The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction and demolition of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households today demonstrates the determination to complete the Project to support the construction of houses for policy families, meritorious people, poor and near-poor households in the province.

On March 2, Dak Lak Provincial Police , the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for the Project to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Dak Lak Province by 2025 (Project 214 of Dak Lak Province) coordinated with the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Buon Ho Town to organize a groundbreaking ceremony to build a house for Mr. Y Than Ksor's family in Kmien Village, Ea Drong Commune, Buon Ho Town, Dak Lak Province. This is the first house to be built under the Project.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were comrade Nguyen Dinh Trung, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Dak Lak province and comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, leaders of the Provincial Police and representatives of departments, branches, sectors, and organizations of the province and Buon Ho town.

Implementing Project 214 on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses , the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Dak Lak province assigned the Provincial Police to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Construction, Department of Finance, localities and related units to direct the construction of 4,285 houses to give to poor and near-poor households in the province in 2025.

The total cost of house construction is 342.8 billion VND, of which the cost from the Central Government's support program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is more than 257 billion VND and the Dak Lak provincial budget is 85.7 billion VND, the support level for building each new house in the province is 80 million VND.

Mr. Y Than Ksor's family is poor, with seven members but only three acres of farmland; Mr. Y Than himself had a stroke eight years ago, the old house was built a long time ago, leaking in many places but the family does not have the means to repair it, so living is difficult.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dak Lak Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dinh Trung emphasized: The Party and State always pay attention to and prioritize the allocation of resources to serve socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security in the Central Highlands region in general and Dak Lak province in particular.

Thereby, there have been many policies to support ethnic minorities and poor households, contributing to promoting economic and social development, poverty reduction, and improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

In recent years, the entire political system, organizations, individuals and businesses in the province have joined hands, unanimously mobilized all resources to carry out poverty reduction work, build and repair houses for people with meritorious services, poor households, and households with housing difficulties...

In the period of 2021-2024, the whole province has supported the construction and repair of 5,649 new houses, including 1,200 houses donated by the Ministry of Public Security in 2024 to meritorious people, poor households, near-poor households, and households with housing difficulties with a total cost of more than 284 billion VND, helping to improve and enhance the material and spiritual life of the people, contributing to stabilizing the political security situation and social order and safety in the province.

This is one of four projects to support the construction of houses for policy families, meritorious people, poor and near-poor households in the province with more than 7,312 households in need of support.

This is also the policy of the Party and State on focusing on implementing social security work, taking care of improving the quality of life of the poor and people in difficulty nationwide and responding to the movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Prime Minister in 2025.

Dak Lak Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dinh Trung requested the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses for Poor and Near-Poor Households in the province to closely coordinate with departments, branches, sectors and local authorities to perform well the assigned tasks; at the same time, step up propaganda and mobilization work for cadres, party members, union members, civil servants, public employees, and armed forces to contribute working days; select capable contractors and construction units to carry out the construction and repair of houses to ensure the quality and progress set forth, and complete the Project to support the construction of houses for policy families, meritorious people, poor households, and near-poor households in the province according to the set plan.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Le Vinh Quy, Director of Dak Lak Provincial Police, thanked the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee for trusting and assigning the Provincial Police to preside over the implementation of the Project to build 4,285 new houses for poor and near-poor households in the province.

This is the largest housing support project for poor and near-poor households ever in the province.

Ms. H'En Nie, daughter of Mr. Y Than Ksor, on behalf of the family, thanked the Party and State for their attention to the family.

The implementation of the Project is of great significance, contributing together with local authorities to effectively implement the work of public security, ensuring social security, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, gradually improving the quality of life of a part of the poor and disadvantaged people in districts, towns and cities; continuing to strengthen people's trust in the Party, State, Party committees and authorities at all levels, as well as the People's Public Security force.

Immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony for the first house for Mr. Y Than Ksor's family, Kmien village, Ea Drong commune, Buon Ho town, the police force will simultaneously start construction in the province. With the highest political determination, competing to achieve achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces' Traditional Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025); welcoming the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, the provincial police are determined to complete the construction of 4,285 houses and hand them over to people for use before August 15, 2025.

Major General Le Vinh Quy said that from March 1, 2025, the district, town and city police nationwide will end their duties; therefore, the implementation of this Project is the direct responsibility of the commune, ward and town police. Therefore, the comrades who are the heads of the commune, ward and town police in the province need to focus on directing the implementation of the Project, ensuring the quality of the project and the set progress.

“This is an important political order and task of the police of communes, wards and towns this year. With the spirit of 'The healthy leaves cover the torn leaves', the Party Committees and authorities of districts, towns and cities direct relevant units to actively help households remove difficulties and legal problems for cases where the land is not qualified to build houses; call on and mobilize businesses, philanthropists, and benefactors to support both spiritually and materially; at the same time, mobilize cadres, party members, union members, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, and workers to support working days, helping households and contractors to complete the project soon. We request that construction units identify this as a social security project to support the poor, so they need to focus on workers to build houses to ensure quality and on schedule to help people soon stabilize their lives,” Major General Le Vinh Quy shared.
