Police search the largest hospital in Quang Binh

On the afternoon of February 27, answering VTC News reporter, Mr. Nguyen Duc Cuong - Director of Vietnam Cuba Friendship Hospital - Dong Hoi (Quang Binh) confirmed that last night the police force had just conducted a search at this hospital.

The police have yet to release official information about the search. However, some sources said the search was related to drugs.

It is known that Vietnam - Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital is a level 1 hospital, under the Ministry of Health, and is the largest hospital in Quang Binh province.

Previously, at the end of March 2021, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Hanoi City Police also dismantled a criminal gang illegally trading in large quantities of drugs, related to inpatient psychiatric patients at the Central Psychiatric Hospital I (Thuong Tin District, Hanoi City).

Accordingly, in January, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department discovered a criminal gang illegally trading in large quantities of drugs in the city, led by Nguyen Xuan Quy (born in 1983, residing in Group 22, Ga area, Van Dien town, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi).

Nguyen Xuan Quy is a drug user, has 1 previous conviction for "Extortion" and 1 previous conviction for "Disturbing public order". Quy has a history of mental illness, and has been treated at the Central Psychiatric Hospital 1 since November 2018.

During the treatment period, Quy left the hospital many times. In early 2020, Quy was arrested by Hai Ba Trung Police for "Illegal possession of drugs", but due to a mental illness record, Quy was returned to the hospital for treatment.

During his long stay at the hospital, Quy established close relationships with a number of hospital staff and was given freedom to move around, live, and eat and stay according to his needs.

Right in the treatment room, Quy converted it into a soundproof room, installed large speakers, and laser lights to serve the illegal use of drugs. This place was turned into a "high" room not only for Quy's comrades and friends but also for some hospital staff to participate.

After a long period of monitoring, on March 20, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department eliminated this gang, arresting Nguyen Xuan Quy and 5 related people.
