Le Duc Tho Cultural & Artistic Street: A space imbued with Binh Dinh cultural colors

The project to socialize the Le Duc Tho Cultural and Artistic Street (Quy Nhon City) is being implemented and is expected to be operational by the end of August 2023. This is expected to be a place to bring a vibrant space with many colors of Binh Dinh culture to people and tourists.

According to the project developed by Viet Anh Urban and Infrastructure Development Investment Joint Stock Company, approved by Quy Nhon City People's Committee, when put into operation, Le Duc Tho Cultural and Artistic Road will only use half of the road on the Dong Da ecological lake side, the remaining road will still allow one-way traffic. Two motorbike parking lots are arranged on the sidewalk of Dong Da ecological lake park (Phan Dinh Phung and Le Loi streets). Thus, the impact on households in the area will be minimized.

The two existing main stages are places to organize regular cultural and artistic activities, but with innovation and difference. In particular, promoting traditional and folk art forms such as singing opera (performing short, classic excerpts), bai choi, performing traditional martial arts of Binh Dinh on martial music with introductions, organizing folk games... In addition, encouraging traditional and modern community and street art forms. These are considered factors to attract tourists and maintain the number of visitors for a long time.

According to the plan, the remaining area will be arranged with about 150 - 200 booths with expected product lines including: Souvenir, handicraft, bonsai area; fashion, books and children's toys area; food court; beverage area; Binh Dinh specialty products area. Accordingly, goods allowed to be traded must have clear origin and source, ensuring food safety and environmental hygiene. Registered businesses that fully meet the requirements will be trained in commercial civilization, behavioral culture and will be tested at the end of the training.

The representative of the project implementing unit said that the Management Board will reserve some priority areas for women to start businesses in wards and communes of Quy Nhon City. In addition, there will be a policy to encourage business owners with products that meet OCOP standards to introduce and trade their products here, in order to create unique features, imbued with Binh Dinh, which are very suitable gift products for tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam, General Director of Viet Anh Urban and Infrastructure Development Investment Joint Stock Company, shared: “In addition to historical relics and beautiful landscapes, Binh Dinh also has a unique cultural treasure but has not been effectively exploited for tourism. With the desire to spread these cultural features, we have the idea of bringing tourists closer to Tuong, Bai Choi, and Binh Dinh traditional martial arts in our own ways. Maintaining activities throughout the week will turn this area into a cultural space, a walking space, and an art viewing space for locals and visitors. From there, it will stimulate the demand for shopping, dining, entertainment, recreation, and tourism in Quy Nhon City”.
