On September 24, in Da Nang City, a delegation of officials from Leipzig City (Federal Republic of Germany) signed a cooperation agreement between Leipzig City, Vietnam College of Medical and Pharmaceutical Technology and Hospital 199 - Ministry of Public Security.

Specifically, Leipzig City will support Hospital 199 in developing a rehabilitation area, forming and developing a sports medicine industry, developing a spa and health care area. With the participation of many facilities and organizations such as: St. Georg Hospital, Apelos, Eisenmoorbad Bad Schmiedeberg, Leipzig Heart Center, Leipzig University Hospital, ... Leipzig City is helping Hospital 199 build a modern medical foundation and provide higher medical services.

At the same time, Leipzig City will cooperate with Vietnam College of Medical Technology and Pharmacy in selecting and training medical staff, proposing and arranging medical staff for medical facilities in Leipzig and across Germany.

In addition, Vietnam College of Medical and Pharmaceutical Technology will support training for other Leipzig experts in fields such as: culinary, hotel, construction, industry, etc. through visits and expert exchanges, expert training, technology transfer, cooperation in information dissemination and communication activities, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam College of Medical Technology and Pharmacy said that the school has a training scale of 8,000 students, focusing on health professions, mainly general practitioners, traditional medicine, nursing and beauty care.

According to Mr. Tuan, Germany is currently lacking human resources, so this is an opportunity for the school to send Vietnamese students to Germany to study and work. "We are committed to providing high-quality human resources in the spirit of respecting the law of the Federal Republic of Germany," Mr. Tuan emphasized.

Mr. Sebastian Kratsch – Head of Economic Development Department of Leipzig City said that Leipzig City and Germany are in dire need of labor. According to Mr. Kratsch, Leipzig City is conceptualizing a health economy, in which Medicine and Pharmacy are chosen as the spearhead.

"Leipzig City has a particularly good relationship with Vietnam. Leipzig is the center of Germany's cooperation with Vietnam and this cooperation starts in the medical field," said Mr. Kratsch.
