Citing data from the General Department of Customs, according to the Import-Export Department, in 2023, Vietnam exported 22,450 tons of meat and meat products, worth 110.35 million USD, up 19% in volume and 30.4% in value compared to 2022.
Notably, Vietnamese meat and meat products are exported to 28 markets around the world, mainly to markets such as: Hong Kong (China), China, Belgium, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, Cambodia, France, USA...
In particular, Hong Kong (China) is still Vietnam's largest export market for meat and meat products, accounting for 42.88% in volume and 54.44% in value of the country's total meat and meat product exports with 9,630 tons, worth 60.07 million USD, up 25.3% in volume and 41% in value compared to 2022.

Also according to the Import-Export Department, in 2023, Vietnam's meat and meat products exported mainly include fresh, chilled or frozen pork (mainly suckling pigs and frozen whole pigs); other meat and edible meat by-products of other animals, fresh, chilled or frozen; meat and edible meat by-products of poultry; meat and edible meat by-products of slaughter, salted, brine-soaked, dried or smoked; fresh and frozen buffalo and beef meat, etc.
Of which, fresh chilled or frozen pork (mainly suckling pigs and frozen whole pigs) was exported the most with 10,770 tons, worth 63.35 million USD, up 2.7% in volume and 24.7% in value compared to 2022.
Fresh, chilled or frozen pork is exported to the following markets: Hong Kong (China), Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Laos, Singapore.
Also in 2023, exports of poultry meat and edible by-products increased sharply, reaching 4,770 tons, worth 12.04 million USD, up 136.1% in volume and 214% in value compared to 202; mainly exported to China, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, South Korea, Hong Kong (China).
