China Her father is disabled and cannot afford to hire a delivery man, so a 20-year-old female student has been helping him deliver refrigerators to customers for the past 6 years.

Cao Youyuan, 20, lives in Hubei Province, central China, where his parents run a small shop selling household appliances. Cao Xiangjun, his father, suffered from polio as a child and suffered from complications. He broke both his legs at the age of 14 and did not receive proper treatment, which left him with difficulty walking, according to a June 12 article in SCMP .

"Many customers request delivery, but my parents' store makes very little profit. We can't afford to hire delivery staff," said Huu Duyen, a student at Hubei Polytechnic University.

She said the first time she helped her father deliver a refrigerator to a customer was six years ago, when she was in middle school. "The refrigerator wasn't heavy. I carried it on my back and found that I could carry it. Since then, whenever I have free time, I help my father deliver goods," Huu Duyen said.

To date, she has delivered more than 1,000 refrigerators and other bulky appliances to customers. Each time, her father walks behind her to help carry the goods.

"The heaviest refrigerator I can carry is 70 kg, but I can only carry one floor and cannot climb any higher," said Huu Duyen. "This job requires skill. I think I have mastered the technique after countless deliveries. Normally, I deliver one or two refrigerators a day and don't feel too tired."

A video of Cao Huu Duyen delivering a refrigerator to a customer's house was shared all over Chinese social media. Many people expressed their sympathy for her.

"The comments online touched me, but I didn't feel proud of myself because I felt that helping my parents deliver goods was a natural and normal thing," the female student said.

"I grew up in this environment. I saw my parents working hard every day. Sometimes they were so busy that they didn't have time to eat. So I considered helping my parents normal."

A few years ago, Mr. Tao was worried about his daughter’s health and took Huu Duyen to see a doctor. After the doctor confirmed that she was completely healthy, he agreed to let his daughter continue working.

"I feel very relieved to have a well-behaved and understanding daughter," he said. "I also want to tell her to take care of her health and study hard."

The story was well received by Chinese social media users. "She is the most wonderful daughter! Such a beautiful person with a beautiful heart," one person commented.

"Girl, carrying too much weight will cause back pain. Be careful!", another person advised.
