Khuoi Sao village people join hands to develop rural transport - Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television Station

The bridge over Na Po stream has been completed and put into use, helping people travel conveniently.

In early April 2025, having the opportunity to visit Khuoi Sao village, Chi Lang commune, we felt the development and change of the village with spacious houses and a solid, clean traffic system. Mr. Vi Minh Long, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Khuoi Sao village said: The whole village has 103 households with 440 people, the people in the village mainly produce agriculture and forestry. In 2024, Chi Lang commune strives to meet the model new rural standards, therefore, from the beginning of the year, at village meetings and Party cell activities, I have propagated to the people and party members in the village about the commune's policy, at the same time mobilizing people to contribute money and working days to join hands in developing rural transport.

Accordingly, in 2024, the village held a meeting to discuss and collect people's opinions on upgrading 3 residential roads in Na Po and Keo Quang hamlets to serve the travel needs of the people. Through propaganda and mobilization, people understood the meaning and benefits, so all households agreed and responded. Along with the cement support from the State, people in the village contributed over 80 million VND to buy materials and mobilized over 200 working days to upgrade and repair roads with a total length of 550m.

Along with joining hands and contributing to upgrading the roads, in 2024, the villagers also contributed money and working days to build a bridge across Na Po stream. In order for the villagers to understand the purpose and significance of building the bridge, the Party Cell and the Village Front Work Committee organized propaganda integrated into village meetings; "going to every alley, knocking on every door"; assigning party members and prestigious people in the village to step up propaganda, mobilizing the villagers and children in the village who work far away to participate in contributing funds to build the bridge.

From that approach, the people in the village understood and agreed. In May 2024, the bridge was started to be built, and by August 2024, the bridge was completed and put into use with a length of more than 17m, with a total construction cost of 450 million VND. Of which, the people in the village contributed nearly 200 million VND and 260 working days to build the bridge.

Mr. Hoang Van Tuyen, Khuoi Sao village shared: In the past, on rainy and flood days, the overflow tunnel over Na Po stream was often flooded, sometimes cut off for a whole week. That is why, when there was a policy to build a bridge, my family contributed 22 million VND and labor days to build the bridge. Since the bridge was put into use, the villagers have been very happy and excited, because from now on we no longer have to worry about the bridge being flooded every time it rains.

Ms. Chu Thi Xuyen, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Chi Lang Commune, said: In 2024, Chi Lang Commune was recognized as a model new rural area. In addition to the State's investment resources, local people have contributed their efforts and money to implement the targets and criteria. In particular, Khuoi Sao is a typical village of the commune in propagating and mobilizing people to join hands and contribute to the development of rural transport, creating conditions for people to travel conveniently, helping to make the rural area look spacious and renewed.

With those results, in 2024, Khuoi Sao village was awarded a certificate of merit by the Department of Transport (now the Department of Construction) for its outstanding achievements in the movement to build and develop rural roads.
