On November 11, in Can Tho City, the 2nd International Spine Conference and the 27th Ho Chi Minh City Spine Association Conference took place with the participation of many professors, doctors, and leading experts in orthopedic trauma and spine from Vietnam, Japan, and Taiwan (China).
Experts examined and performed surgery on 4 cases of spinal disease.
The conference was organized by Can Tho Central General Hospital in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Spine Association for 2 days. There were 21 lectures, 16 reports, scientific research works on spine, neurology, orthopedic oncology, minimally invasive spine surgery, endoscopic surgery, scoliosis treatment techniques presented by experts at the conference to update progress in diagnosis and treatment of spinal diseases, improving the quality of medical care for people.
The conference was attended by many professors, doctors, and leading experts in orthopedic trauma and spine from Vietnam, Japan, and Taiwan.
According to Dr. Nguyen Minh Vu, Director of Can Tho Central General Hospital, in recent years, the field of orthopedics in general and spinal surgery in particular has made strong progress and achieved many great achievements. Many advanced medical achievements in the world in terms of techniques and treatment methods have been applied in hospitals across the country such as: endoscopic spinal surgery, minimally invasive spinal surgery is the trend in the world today of spinal surgery.
"This is also the main topic discussed at this conference. The conference is truly a great opportunity for hospitals and colleagues in the Mekong Delta to learn, update knowledge, and learn more about advances in diagnosis and treatment of spinal diseases... At the same time, it is also an opportunity to share practical experiences in diagnosing, treating and caring for spinal diseases for the people," said Dr. Vu.
In recent years, the field of orthopedics in general and spinal surgery in particular has made strong developments and achieved many successes.
Also within the framework of the conference, on November 10, at Can Tho Central General Hospital, a day of transferring spinal surgery techniques took place with the participation of leading experts from Japan and Taiwan. The experts examined and performed 4 spinal cases that were broadcast live to the delegates, including 2 cases of endoscopic surgery to decompress the lumbar nerve, 2 cases of open surgery for lumbar spinal stenosis and cervical myelopathy with the support of a microscope.
