Attending the ceremony of giving livestock to ethnic minority households in communes of Bu Dop and Loc Ninh districts (Binh Phuoc) organized by Army Corps 16, we felt the concern and close affection between officers and soldiers of Army Corps 16 and poor people in the border area. 86 livestock including buffaloes, cows, goats... fully vaccinated and quarantined, were given to 49 ethnic minority households and families in especially difficult circumstances. To facilitate livestock farming, technical staff of the Army Corps enthusiastically instructed on methods of building barns and waste treatment; techniques of planting, processing and storing food for livestock...

Colonel Lai Van Tuan, Deputy Chief of Politics of Army Corps 16, shared: "Caring for the lives of people in border areas is an important task of the Army Corps to encourage and motivate poor, near-poor and ethnic minority households to escape poverty. Giving away breeding animals is a concrete implementation of that task, contributing to creating jobs, increasing income, improving people's lives, and strengthening the close military-civilian relationship."

Implementing the motto "Develop and expand production to where, attract local workers and build infrastructure and residential areas there", Army Corps 16 has stepped up propaganda and mobilized ethnic minorities and local people to become Army Corps workers; actively built "workers' villages" and ethnic residential areas to become bright spots in new rural construction. Up to now, the Army Corps has stabilized 56 residential clusters and areas associated with production teams, including 30 clusters and areas close to the Cambodian border and 3 typical Mong ethnic village clusters, creating jobs for more than 5,000 households with about 25,000 people; built more than 400km of roads, 200km of medium and low voltage power lines, nearly 40 lakes, dams, irrigation works, 80 classrooms, 42 kindergartens, 4 infirmaries, 1 military and civilian hospital, 1 rubber processing factory with a capacity of 5,000 tons/year...

In addition, the Corps is interested in solving employment for workers in the economic-defense project area, creating solidarity between the army and the people to join hands in building a green, peaceful, and prosperous border. Units in the entire Corps constantly strive to overcome all difficulties, stand side by side with local Party committees and authorities to care for the people, and build a "people's heart position" at the border. According to comrade Nguyen Thi Hoai Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Bu Dop District Party Committee, with the affection and responsibility of Uncle Ho's Army, Corps 16 has promoted its role well in developing the economy, culture, society, improving the material and spiritual life of people in remote areas. These activities contribute to firmly consolidating the solidarity between the army and the people, enhancing the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's Army in the new era.
