Preparing activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnamese National Assembly

On the afternoon of January 10, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue worked with relevant agencies on preparations for organizing cultural and artistic activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026).

Also attending were Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong; Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong...

Reporting at the meeting, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office Vu Minh Tuan said that based on the report of the National Assembly Office, on December 25, 2023, the Central Party Office issued a document notifying the opinion of the Secretariat highly appreciating the preparation work for the organization of the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam.

The Secretariat requested that activities should demonstrate the great historical significance and stature of the event; assigned the Central Steering Committee to celebrate major holidays and important events of the country in 3 years (2023-2025) to direct the Central Propaganda Department and relevant agencies to select appropriate content, organize well the commemorative activities, ensure solemnity, practicality, effectiveness, and compliance with regulations.

Implementing the Steering Committee's project on organizing the 80th Anniversary of the General Election of the Vietnamese National Assembly, recently, the National Assembly Office has closely directed units to proactively and actively coordinate with relevant agencies and units to carry out the task of organizing cultural and artistic activities towards the celebration.

At the meeting, representatives of the agencies gave detailed comments on the organization of cultural and artistic activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly, focusing on organizing a songwriting contest or campaign to compose songs about the Vietnamese National Assembly, organizing the Vietnam National Assembly Television Singing Festival, the Vietnam National Assembly Glory Art Program...

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized the special significance of the event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly; requested the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee to implement the Celebration Project in accordance with the direction of the Secretariat; promptly establish subcommittees to carry out tasks, including the Subcommittee on Culture and Arts headed by National Assembly Vice Chairman Tran Quang Phuong to direct the implementation of specific activities.

The National Assembly Chairman agreed to organize a campaign to compose songs about the National Assembly and People's Council, thereby creating a widespread influence, expanding the composition and scope to attract a large number of professional and amateur musicians, and encouraging young musicians... to participate.

The National Assembly Office coordinates with relevant agencies to develop and soon promulgate the Campaign's charter, develop an implementation plan, establish an appraisal council... and organize the Campaign's launching ceremony in January 2024.

Agreeing with the proposal of the delegates and musicians on creating conditions for musicians to experience the actual activities of the National Assembly and the People's Council, the Chairman of the National Assembly shared some outstanding highlights of the National Assembly since the beginning of the term, especially the stories of a "kitchen" and "behind the scenes" nature at the agencies of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee to prepare contents, submit to the National Assembly for consideration, decision, and complete the huge and very difficult workload since the beginning of the 15th term; the close connection between the National Assembly and the People's Council, the "new wind" in the activities of elected bodies from the central to local levels...

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue assigned the National Assembly Office to organize experiential activities so that musicians can better understand the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils, thereby creating inspiration for good and meaningful songs about the National Assembly and People's Councils.
