The President pointed out that placing the statue of President Ho Chi Minh right in the park named after him has continued to carry out the mission of connecting the two nations, demonstrating the deep affection of the Chilean people for President Ho Chi Minh, as expressed by the late President Salvador Allende after meeting him during his visit to Vietnam in May 1969: "Ho Chi Minh is the father of Vietnam, the son and father of the revolution, a writer, a politician, and a liberator of his people. That man has won respect and admiration for his exemplary life, not only of the Vietnamese people but also of all peoples in the world."

Later, the park area was renovated, embellished, and a statue of President Ho Chi Minh was added. The “Ho Chi Minh Space” area is in the process of being expanded, which not only symbolizes the special friendship between the two countries but also helps local people gain more understanding of the history, culture, country and people of Vietnam.

The Vietnamese delegation and guests also enjoyed traditional Chilean dances, as well as the immortal melodies of the famous song praising President Ho Chi Minh called “El derecho de vivir en paz” (The Right to Live in Peace) by Chilean musician Victor Jara performed by local artists.
