That comment by Dr. Ruvislei González Sáez, a leading expert on Vietnam in Latin America, partly expressed the respect and admiration of the international community for the beloved Father of the Vietnamese people.

Talking about President Ho Chi Minh, if international researchers praise him as a national liberation hero and an outstanding cultural figure of Vietnam, ordinary people will never forget the emotional memories of meeting him with boundless love. Sharing with VNA reporters on the occasion of the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, international friends once again recalled his arduous journey "in search of the shape of the country", expressing their love and admiration for his noble qualities and great thoughts, as well as praising his great role in the cause of independence of Vietnam in particular and the international revolutionary movement in general.

After many years of studying Vietnam, Dr. González Sáez, Vice President of the Cuba - Vietnam Friendship Association, greatly admired Uncle Ho - a man who overcame his circumstances with his thoughts and actions, devoted his life to tireless struggle and became a figure of all time. The Cuban scholar clearly stated that he became the architect of a new Vietnam, the one who led the nation out of the darkness of colonialism, eradicated illiteracy, and turned it into a socialist country ten times more beautiful than before.

Dr. Ton Van Ban - Director of the Hong Kong Chronicle Center, remembers many stories about President Ho Chi Minh, then known as Tong Van So, during his time in Hong Kong (China) from 1930 to 1933. What impressed her the most was that President Ho Chi Minh wisely chose the appropriate time and place to hold the conference to establish the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 3, 1930.

Referring to President Ho Chi Minh's contributions to the Vietnamese revolutionary cause, British historian John Callow commented that it is difficult to imagine the cause of national liberation or Vietnam's path to independence without the presence and personal mark of President Ho Chi Minh. President Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary career was a long and rich journey, in which he constantly learned, adapted and developed. Mr. Callow especially noted that adaptability is one of the "secrets" behind the greatness of Ho Chi Minh's ideology. He was always aware of learning new and positive things from the West to elevate Vietnamese culture while still preserving traditional identity. These qualities made President Ho Chi Minh a truly outstanding leader, a world-class politician, always grasping the spirit of communist internationalism, always seeing the solidarity of the Party, of the people but also the solidarity of the broader socialist movement. It is the flexibility and adaptability of Ho Chi Minh Thought that has helped the Party and the Vietnamese People develop the country creatively, rebuild the country after the devastation of war, overcome great difficulties in the late 1980s, to survive and develop in a world with many challenges.

Feeling sad and emotional when talking about the life of President Ho Chi Minh, Ms. Poldi Sosa Schmidt, President of the Argentina - Vietnam Cultural Institute (ICAV), emphasized that President Ho Chi Minh, the soul of the Vietnamese revolution, sacrificed his whole life for the cause of liberation of the Vietnamese people. She expressed her deep impression and emotion at his extraordinary efforts. He traveled to many places in the world, worked hard, and experienced the working life of the working class. He studied and approached progressive revolutionary ideology, thereby finding the most suitable path to liberate the Vietnamese people from the yoke of French colonialism. What President Ho Chi Minh contributed to Vietnam and humanity is truly wonderful.

Besides the admiration for an outstanding leader of the Vietnamese people, the excellent moral qualities and personality of President Ho Chi Minh always make international friends admire. Researcher González Sáez is especially impressed with the simple, humble and friendly demeanor of President Ho Chi Minh. His teachings are imbued with both theoretical and practical values, demonstrating a far-sighted vision, and are simple, easy to convey and easy to remember.

Meanwhile, British historian Callow pointed out that President Ho Chi Minh had the qualities of a patriot, a revolutionary, a scholar, a poet, a politician, a theorist and a great Marxist. All these qualities combined together to create an outstanding leader. The outstanding virtue of President Ho Chi Minh was humility. He did not appear as a distant leader, but belonged to the people, was a part of the people. This was the thread that ran through the unity of the entire Party, the entire people and the entire country for the common cause.

President Ho Chi Minh's personality and simple, close lifestyle also left an unforgettable impression on those who had the chance to meet and interact with him. When recalling the memory of meeting and being asked by Uncle Ho when he went to the airport to welcome Soviet Marshal Kliment Yefremovich Voroshilov to visit Vietnam in 1957, Ms. Vuong Phong, daughter of the late journalist Vuong Duy Chan, former Head of the Xinhua News Agency (China) in Hanoi, was moved and emotional. Although she is over 70 years old this year, the image of "a great, noble, simple national hero, with white hair and beard, and gentle eyes" seems to always be deeply engraved in the mind of the "little girl" Vuong Phong of that day.

"I am willing to graft branches for peace and friendship among nations, in all my free time." The simple and sincere sharing of President Ho Chi Minh when he was one of the representatives of 173 countries in the world grafting branches into the famous Friendship Tree in Sochi (Russia) - a tree with 45 different types of fruit blooming and bearing fruit - exuded the humanity in his thoughts. It is the spirit of loving peace, the aspiration to contribute to building peace and friendship among nations in the world. His humanistic and progressive thoughts not only live forever in the hearts of millions of Vietnamese people "but also go beyond the borders of Vietnam and have a great influence on all of humanity", as commented by Dr. González Sáez.
