On March 15, 2024, Mr. Truong Van Mien's family in Nam Hoi Trieu village, Hoang Phong commune, Hoang Hoa district released over 200,000 white-leg shrimp. The family is expected to harvest this batch of shrimp by June 20.
To care for and protect farmed shrimp from disease, in addition to using quality food, Mr. Mien's family also uses probiotics to treat the pond bottom, clean the water source, improve the pond environment, and prevent pathogens.

Mr. Truong Van Mien, Nam Hoi Trieu village, Hoang Phong commune, Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province said: "Here, the change of season causes the shrimp to die naturally, it carries the white spot disease of tiger shrimp, and the farmed shrimp are also infected. My family uses lime almost every day to treat this epidemic season. In addition, we periodically disinfect with aquatic industry disinfectants such as Inodin and Be Ca C to limit the epidemic."
In the spring-summer crop of 2024, Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province has nearly 1,750 hectares of shrimp farming, of which the area of intensive white-leg shrimp farming using high technology is 310 hectares, the rest is the area of black tiger shrimp farming.
To limit the impact of hot weather on the health of farmed shrimp, the district has directed units and communes to strengthen inspection, supervision and guidance for households to apply science and technology to care for shrimp, in order to improve resistance and prevent disease for shrimp.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Chau Commune, Hoang Hoa District, Thanh Hoa Province added: " During the shrimp farming process, households have collected water and treated the water with preparations. In the ponds, ventilation fans are often used and the farming systems must use industrial electricity. When there is no electricity, generators must be used to promptly treat pathogens and regulate the weather in the ponds for shrimp to grow."

Mr. Le Ba Quyet, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hoang Hoa district
Mr. Le Ba Quyet, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hoang Hoa district said: " The pond system must have fans to prevent shrimp from suffocating. Second, we must have good aeration. Third, we must ensure that greenhouses have high-tech roofs to reduce the heat in the ponds. As for extensive farming, we recommend that farmers always change the water to avoid water poisoning."
In the coming time, the weather will continue to be complicated, the environmental temperature will increase, and shrimp diseases will easily arise, especially white spot disease. Therefore, shrimp farmers in Hoang Hoa district need to closely monitor the weather, comply with the farming process and instructions of specialized agencies. When checking the pond, if you see abnormal signs or dead shrimp, you should promptly notify local technical staff or specialized agencies for support in handling and preventing the spread of diseases, avoiding risks and economic losses during the farming process.
