Boat sinks on Dong Nai river, 3 young men in distress

Today (September 14), Lam Dong province authorities continued to search for a missing young man on the Dong Nai River, through Da Teh district, Lam Dong province.

Previously, on the afternoon of September 13, 3 young men, including Mr. D.TS (32 years old, all living in Da Teh district) invited each other to row an iron boat across the Dong Nai river to trap birds. In the middle of the river, their boat capsized, causing 3 birds to fall into the water and be lost.

A while later, people discovered them and swam out to bring the two young men to shore. One of them was taken to the emergency room due to drowning, and is now in stable condition and has been discharged. Meanwhile, Mr. S. was swept away by the water and is missing.

Upon receiving the news, Da Teh District Police and Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team (Lam Dong Provincial Police) were mobilized to the scene to search for people.

Dong Nai River is about 586 km long, originating from the northern mountains of Lang Biang plateau at an altitude of 1,770 m, flowing through Lam Dong, Dak Nong, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai provinces and Ho Chi Minh City.
