Promoting cooperation to operate and deploy Data Center in Thai Nguyen

Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation clearly stated the task of "making data the main means of production, promoting the rapid development of big databases, data industry and data economy". The National Data Strategy to 2030 and the Information and Communications Infrastructure Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, have determined: "Regional multi-purpose data centers are located in the midlands and mountainous regions of the North; the Mekong Delta; the Central Highlands; the Southeast; the North Central and Central Coast regions; and the Red River Delta. Data centers are connected to national data centers, national multi-purpose data centers, and regional multi-purpose data centers; priority is given to areas close to users, convenient for energy access, and flexible deployment to suit market needs with new infrastructure and service requirements requiring low latency and high reliability..."

Representatives of major commercial banks in Vietnam attended the program.

Resolution No. 11-NQ/TW dated February 10, 2022 of the Politburo on the direction of socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the Northern midland and mountainous region to 2030, with a vision to 2045, identified Thai Nguyen as a growth pole, an economic center, a development center of the Northern midland and mountainous region; at the same time, Thai Nguyen is also the center of the headquarters of the Tax Department of Region VII, Social Insurance of Region X, State Bank of Region V, State Treasury of Region VII. Therefore, data storage in Thai Nguyen not only serves the socio-economic development of the region and the country, but also has important significance in terms of national defense and security, especially data safety and security, ensuring continuous operation in all situations.

At the working program, delegates contributed their opinions to the Cooperation Agreement between the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province and major commercial banks of Vietnam to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo and the National Data Strategy to 2030 in Thai Nguyen province; discussed the practical needs of using Data Center services. On that basis, the parties will have long-term, effective and sustainable cooperation in operating and deploying the Data Center in Thai Nguyen.
