Nguyen Huu Hung, a student of the Faculty of Literature at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, is the valedictorian of the entire university with a cumulative GPA of 9.2/10. Previously, this male student was also the valedictorian of the C00 group in the 2020 high school graduation exam.
To achieve double valedictorian, Huu Hung had to concentrate on studying to the maximum to achieve the best scores in all subjects. Huu Hung shared: "Every semester, I proactively ask for documents from teachers to review at home. When I go to class, the teachers lecture and I get to study again. If there is any additional knowledge, I immediately take notes to make it easier to organize my lessons and review when the exam comes."

Take advantage of every opportunity to study because for Huu Hung, studying is a lifelong job. Therefore, when receiving a full tuition scholarship from businessman Le Dang Khoa, this student also registered for many more subjects he loved to supplement his knowledge. Notably, most of Huu Hung's scores after each exam were excellent (A+).
Exam preparation is very simple for Huu Hung. Because this student is very focused on the learning process. Huu Hung always prioritizes studying early from the beginning, because according to this double valedictorian, studying close to the exam will not yield good results.
Huu Hung said: "The Faculty of Literature has subjects that last for many months. That subject is very knowledge-intensive, so I always allocate my study time scientifically. I often study in a rolling manner. When the exam is near, I only need to review it once."
Being a perfectionist and decisive person, Hung always prepares his study schedule carefully in advance. "I divide each semester into groups of subjects to study, and I register for related subjects at the same time. For example, this semester, if I study subjects related to criticism, I will register for additional courses on writing literary criticism, stage criticism, and film criticism. Studying like this will complement each other a lot and I find this method very good," said Huu Hung.
Huu Hung has a passion for Vietnamese grammar. Since childhood, this valedictorian has always paid attention to whether the people around him spoke correctly or not. "I am very interested in the rules of language. When I studied Vietnamese grammar, I was proud because my essay got a high score and the teacher sent it to my classmates as a model. That subject is a beautiful memory for me."
For Huu Hung, studying is not only to gain knowledge but also to be tolerant. "When studying at school, I found a very meaningful educational philosophy, which is liberal. Teachers at school also created conditions for me to express my opinions. Studying helps me to understand many issues, especially helps me to have an attitude of accepting everything easily and being more tolerant," Hung shared.
In the future, the double valedictorian will continue his graduate studies in linguistics and literature.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thuy, lecturer of the Faculty of Literature, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, commented: "Huu Hung is a capable, hard-working, progressive student, always has clear goals and plans, and has the will to overcome difficulties to achieve his goals. Huu Hung also always has a proactive attitude in handling problems, does not blame circumstances, and does not rely on others. As Huu Hung's homeroom teacher and having taught Hung 3 subjects in the training program, I highly appreciate these advantages of Hung and think he deserves to achieve the results he has today."
