Health care for union members and workers

Recognizing that, trade unions at all levels in the province have paid special attention to and taken care of the health of union members and workers through programs signing agreements to improve welfare.

In recent years, trade unions at all levels in the province have implemented many contents and forms of health care for union members and workers. Typically, during Workers' Month 2024, the Buon Ma Thuot City Labor Federation (FLF) coordinated with Mandic Viet Anh General Clinic to organize medical examinations and provide free medicine for many union members and workers in difficult circumstances who are working at enterprises in Tan An Industrial Cluster.

Ms. H China Niê Hraih (worker at Luc Thiem Garment Company Ltd.) shared: "As workers who are directly involved in labor and production, we are always concerned about protecting our health. Therefore, when we receive free consultation, testing, and health check-ups, everyone is happy. Without such free health check-ups, we would not have the conditions to do disease screening tests, because our finances are limited and it is difficult to find time to go to the doctor. Hopefully, workers like us will continue to receive more attention and health care so that we can work with peace of mind."

Also during Workers' Month 2024, trade unions at all levels coordinated with medical units to organize many consultation sessions, health check-ups and disease screening for workers. In particular, the Provincial Labor Confederation coordinated with Medlatec Dak Lak Company Limited to organize free liver cancer screening tests for union members and workers at Hoa Phu Industrial Park; the Krong Nang District Labor Confederation coordinated to organize free health check-ups and liver cancer screening for union members and workers in the area...

In addition to coordinating with agencies, units, and enterprises to organize free consultations, reproductive health check-ups, and early cancer screening for union members and employees, unions at all levels have signed welfare programs with hospitals and clinics to provide free health check-ups and discounts on medical services for union members and employees.

Workers working at Hoa Phu Industrial Park (Buon Ma Thuot City) are tested and examined for free.

In mid-March 2025, nearly 600 union members and employees under the Buon Ho Town Labor Federation were screened for liver cancer and had free thyroid ultrasounds at the Tam Phuc Buon Ho General Clinic; at the same time, doctors provided advice and guidance on how to self-monitor and take care of their health. In addition, union members and employees also received a 10% discount on other medical services... This is a benefit from the program of signing a cooperation agreement between the Town Labor Federation and Tam Phuc Buon Ho General Clinic Company Limited for the period 2024 - 2025.

Chairman of the Buon Ho Town Labor Union Le Ba Hieu said that health check-ups and care not only demonstrate the concern of the trade union organization for workers but also help them to detect early signs of abnormalities that may develop into diseases so that they can proactively prevent and treat the disease. This is a practical activity that helps union members and workers promptly grasp their health status to feel secure in their work as well as improve their quality of life.

Previously, in May 2024, the Health Sector Trade Union and the Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union signed a cooperation agreement on welfare programs for union members and employees with Medic Dat Viet General Clinic Company Limited. Accordingly, from May 2024 to the end of 2025, union members of the two units when using medical examination and treatment services and performing medical examination and treatment at Medic Dat Viet General Clinic will receive incentives, fee reductions, and free medical examination and treatment services such as: free health examination and consultation for union members; free first-time dental examination, tartar removal, tooth extraction; screening tests for stomach, colon, rectal, lung cancer; thyroid tissue elastography or breast tissue elastography (female union members), liver tissue elastography (male union members). In addition, depending on the examination and treatment services, union members and employees will receive a cost reduction of 5-100%...

According to the Provincial Federation of Labor, in 2024, the whole province had 9 grassroots-level trade unions directly signing cooperation agreements with enterprises with a total of 10,636 union members and employees benefiting from the welfare program, with the benefit amount of over 1.5 billion VND; of which, there were 5 programs agreed with medical and health care units.

It can be seen that, in addition to caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers, trade unions at all levels have actively taken care of the health of workers, because only workers with good health can work well; thereby helping to promote work efficiency and improve labor productivity.

During the recent Lunar New Year, the Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated to organize free health check-ups, consultations, medicine, and biochemical tests for more than 3,000 union members and workers.
