At the same time, the Department of Transport was assigned to carry out tasks to ensure synchronous completion with the exploitation progress of metro line 1 such as traffic connection along the route, adding elevators at the pedestrian bridge, and monitoring system during exploitation.
In addition, the Department of Transport is assigned to urgently advise the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to issue regulations and policies for the operation and maintenance of urban railways such as ticket policies, regulations on management and operation of urban railway transport, regulations on management, maintenance and exploitation of urban railway infrastructure.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also assigned the project investor representative to urgently report specifically on the time, progress and work items to put metro line 1 into commercial operation to the Department of Transport for review and proposal to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
Previously, the investor representative said that in the near future, 9 pedestrian bridge locations of metro line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) will be proposed to add elevator designs to serve all metro users.
Currently, the contractor is constructing 9 pedestrian overpasses connecting to 9 elevated stations of metro line 1, including: Station 5 (Tan Cang), Station 6 (Thao Dien), Station 7 (An Phu), Station 8 (Rach Chiec), Station 9 (Phuoc Long), Station 10 (Binh Thai), Station 11 (Thu Duc), Station 12 (High Technology), Station 13 (National University).
During the implementation process, some opinions said that building pedestrian overpasses connecting elevated stations without elevators would cause difficulties for some groups of metro users (such as people with disabilities, the elderly, etc.).
