On April 17, according to the investigation of the reporter, the Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province signed a decision to discipline Mr. Le Van Thai - Principal of Buon Ma Thuot High School. Mr. Thai was disciplined with a warning.

Mr. Thai was disciplined for violations in management of the implementation of professional regulations; grassroots democracy regulations and financial and asset management in the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years.

Previously, Tien Phong newspaper had many articles reflecting that Principal Le Van Thai was accused of authoritarianism, lack of democratic centralism, and many irregularities in financial management. After that, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province decided to conduct a surprise inspection, concluding many violations by this person.

Inspectors from the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province pointed out a series of violations at this school such as: Paying overtime to Principal Le Van Thai in violation of regulations of more than 43 million VND (school years 2021-2022 and 2022-2023). The school spent many incorrect contents of the state budget, exceeding the norm by more than 419 million VND. Of which, many payments to Principal Le Van Thai were not in accordance with regulations.

Wrong spending, exceeding the state budget by over 419 million VND. Collecting operating expenses for the school's Parents' Association at an illegal rate. Funds for the parents' association but the spending was signed by the principal, many expenses were illegal...

There are 32 records of expenditures from the State budget lacking evidence amounting to more than 240 million VND (many expenditures do not have a request proposal; there are no minutes of inspection to verify the actual status, there are no minutes, there are no minutes of inspection of the actual status of damaged assets...).

Furthermore, the appointment of heads and deputy heads of professional groups was not discussed or approved by the principal or school leaders or school management staff. The principal teaches Mathematics but for two consecutive years has not participated in the Mathematics-Information Technology group...

The Inspector of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province stated that the main responsibility for the above violations lies with Principal Le Van Thai.
