(NLDO) - The consulting unit calculated that it would take about 30,000 billion VND to extend the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line to Dong Nai with a total length of nearly 20 km.
On March 3, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee worked with departments, branches, localities and consulting units to listen to reports on the plan to connect the metro line from Suoi Tien to Dong Nai.

The consultant representative presented the route plan of the metro line connecting Suoi Tien to Dong Nai.
According to the proposed plan, the total length of this metro line is nearly 21 km, including 13 stations (including station S0) and 1 depot with an area of over 23 hectares, with the starting point of the line connecting from behind Suoi Tien Bus Station of metro line No. 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, the end point of the line ending at the depot expected to be in Ho Nai 3 commune, Trang Bom district.
In particular, the section from station S0 to the depot in Ho Nai 3 commune (Dong Nai) has a length of nearly 20 km. Regarding the route plan, the consulting unit also proposed elevated and underground options for the section in the province.
The consulting unit said that for the section in the province, the total investment is expected to be about 30,000 billion VND.
Regarding implementation capital, the consulting unit has 3 sources including the province's annual public investment source, support capital from the central budget and loan capital (ODA loan or local bond issuance).
Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha assessed that the key issue for this project is investment capital.
Therefore, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha assigned the Department of Construction to propose the establishment of a working group to develop a metro line investment project connecting with metro line No. 1 in Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, propose specific mechanisms to recommend support from central agencies to implement this project in the fastest, most economical and most effective way. At the same time, this project must be included in the list of top priority projects for early implementation.
Regarding the route plan, Dong Nai province leaders requested the province's functional agencies as well as consulting units to study the underground plan to ensure urban aesthetics.
