On October 31, information from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of Can Tho City said that it will continue to organize the second measles vaccination campaign for children aged 1-10 who have not received 2 doses of measles vaccine.

The second vaccination campaign will be held at health stations and primary schools across the city, from November 6 to 9.
Children vaccinated in this phase are from 1-10 years old who have not received 2 doses of measles vaccine, children who have postponed the first vaccination, and children who are traveling; in addition, there are medical staff suspected of having contact with measles patients, relatives of children with measles, etc.
Special cases requiring vaccination will be vaccinated at Can Tho Children's Hospital from November 20 to 22.
According to CDC Can Tho, in the second measles vaccination campaign, the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City provided Can Tho with an additional 20,000 doses of measles-rubella vaccine to organize vaccination; the goal is to achieve vaccination coverage of at least 95% of the subjects to reduce the rate of disease and control measles epidemics.
Previously, according to the first measles vaccination data, Can Tho was given 20,000 doses of measles-rubella vaccine, the health sector organized vaccination for over 40,000 children of the right age (more than 1,700 doses left).
However, the first vaccination coverage rate only reached more than 40% of the total number of subjects.
Regarding the measles epidemic, according to Can Tho Children's Hospital, the number of children with the disease and severe cases has not decreased.
The number of children with measles, rash fever suspected of measles treated at the infectious disease department, Can Tho Children's Hospital is currently over 180 cases, the age group with measles from 1-10 years old accounts for the highest proportion.
