This is the first commercial flight at the new terminal, marking an important milestone in putting T3 into operation, towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification from April 30, 1975 to April 30, 2025.
105 passengers "first arrived" at T3 terminal
Vietnam Airlines becomes the first airline to operate commercial flights at T3. In the coming time, the airline will gradually move domestic flights to the new terminal and notify customers of details via official channels.
At T3, Vietnam Airlines has arranged counters 56 to 109, along with 22 automatic check-in counters, helping passengers save time and increase initiative.
Opening the first flight at the new terminal, the airline and airport received positive feedback from customers about the spacious, airy space and professional operating procedures at T3.
Ms. Tran Thi Huong, a passenger, commented that the flight information system was clear, the check-in counter and security screening area were well organized, helping to save time.
"I believe T3 will bring a comfortable experience to all passengers" - Ms. Huong said.
To ensure a smooth journey, passengers are advised to carefully check the terminal information on their tickets, learn the T3 map, arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before their flight time, and prioritize online check-in via the website, mobile application or self-service kiosk at the airport.
With a total floor area of 112,500 m², including 1 basement and 4 upper floors, T3 is scientifically designed, integrating advanced aviation technology. The terminal has 90 traditional check-in counters, 20 automatic baggage drop counters and 42 check-in kiosks. The synchronous system of ramps and overpasses helps T3 handle nearly 80% of domestic flights at Tan Son Nhat.
According to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), the operation of T3 will not only improve service quality but also contribute to bringing Tan Son Nhat closer to its goal of becoming a leading aviation hub in Asia. ACV is committed to listening to opinions to perfect the process, making T3 not only a transit point but also a symbol of Vietnam's aviation development.
According to Tuoi Tre Online on the morning of April 17, the lounge system of Tan Son Nhat Airport Services Joint Stock Company (SASCO) has officially been put into operation. This is also the first unit to complete operations at T3, welcoming passengers with the Lotus Lounge and The SENS Business Lounge business lounge systems.
Both lounges feature relaxation areas, work spaces, live kitchens and premium buffets. The highly trained staff provide personalized service, creating a memorable experience for business travelers.

The construction of Tan Son Nhat T3 Passenger Terminal was started by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) on December 24, 2022. This project contributes to increasing the capacity of Tan Son Nhat Airport to 50 million passengers/year.
Tan Son Nhat T3 Terminal was put into operation with a total floor area of up to 112,500m², including 1 basement and 4 upper floors, scientifically and modernly arranged with 90 traditional check-in counters, 20 automatic baggage drop counters and 42 check-in kiosks.
Tan Son Nhat T3 Terminal, put into operation for domestic operations with a capacity of 20 million passengers/year, is considered a key project to fundamentally solve the congestion at Tan Son Nhat.
As the first airline to operate Tan Son Nhat Terminal 3, Vietnam Airlines said that in the coming time, it will continue to update the roadmap for transferring other domestic routes to Terminal 3 and will widely notify passengers through official channels.
It is expected that the airline will arrange check-in counters at terminal T3 from number 56 to 109, along with 22 automatic check-in counters to help passengers save time and increase initiative.
