Balancing resources to expand National Highway 14G through Da Nang

According to the Ministry of Transport, according to the Road Network Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, National Highway 14G is 66 km long, connecting Hoa Vang District (Da Nang City) with Dong Giang District (Quang Nam Province), with a scale of level IV road, 2 lanes.

Voters in Da Nang City proposed upgrading and expanding National Highway 14G through the area to ensure traffic safety.

Of which, the section through Da Nang City is about 25km long, currently has a level V road scale, 5.5m wide.

In the period of 2021 - 2025, on National Highway 14G, the Ministry of Transport has prioritized investment in putting into operation 4 bridges (at Km32 + 480, Vang River, Doc Rua 2 and Kon River) from Japan's JICA loan capital; Research and prepare for investment in the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 14G. However, due to resource difficulties, capital has not been allocated for investment.

The Ministry of Transport acknowledges the voters' recommendations. In the process of developing a medium-term public investment plan for the 2026-2030 period, based on the ability to balance resources and the principles of capital allocation according to regulations, the Ministry of Transport will consider reporting to the competent authority to invest in National Highway 14G.

To ensure traffic safety on the route, the Ministry of Transport has assigned the Vietnam Road Administration to allocate 47 billion VND in 2023 - 2024 and plans to allocate about 3.9 billion VND this year to maintain and repair National Highway 14G.

Regarding the proposal to study the connection of DT601 route with Nam Dong district, Thua Thien Hue province, the Ministry of Transport agreed on the necessity of investing in DT601 route (37km long, connecting Da Nang city with Thua Thien Hue province) to meet transportation needs, creating convenient connections for people to travel.

However, DT601 is a local road, managed and invested by the People's Committee of Da Nang City. Therefore, it is recommended that the People's Committee of Da Nang City prioritize capital allocation to invest in the road and inform voters of Da Nang City about the route and scale of investment in the road. The Ministry of Transport will closely coordinate with Da Nang City in the process of implementing the project investment.
