As one of the three gateway hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City, Thu Duc Regional General Hospital is under urgent construction and is expected to officially come into operation next September.
According to Dan Tri reporters, Thu Duc Regional General Hospital (Linh Trung Ward, Thu Duc City) has gradually completed many blocks of buildings and reached about 80% of the progress. Currently, the project has completed tiling, interior and technical systems.
This project started in November 2021, with a total investment of over 3,000 billion VND, of which equipment costs 1,450 billion VND and construction costs 1,950 billion VND. The project has 1 basement, 10 floors above ground, accommodating 1,000 beds.
As one of the three key gateway hospital projects in Ho Chi Minh City, the contractor is rushing to complete the construction to put it into operation in time to help "share the burden" for patients from other provinces.
The hospital is built with a scale of 1 basement, 10 floors (1 ground floor + 9 floors), total floor area of nearly 78,281m².
After completion of construction, Thu Duc Regional General Hospital will become a Grade I general hospital (including basic and specialized medical examination and treatment); meeting the health care needs of people in the eastern part of the city and neighboring provinces in the Southeast region.
At the same time, create better health care conditions for people in Thu Duc City area and reduce the load on end-line hospitals and inner-city areas.
Previously, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh approved the investment policy with the goal of building new modern medical facilities that meet Southeast Asian standards at the gateway hospitals of Ho Chi Minh City (Thu Duc Regional General Hospital, Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital, Cu Chi Regional General Hospital).
According to Dr. Cao Tan Phuoc, Director of Thu Duc Regional General Hospital, after the hospital comes into operation, it can treat more than 1,000 inpatients and examine more than 5,000 outpatients.
Mr. Phuoc added that the hospital has sent a number of nurses and doctors to study ophthalmology, cardiology, vascular intervention, etc. to serve patients most effectively. In addition, the hospital has also prepared personnel to serve the hospital after completion.
According to records, some equipment is also gradually completed such as escalators, modern examination rooms and landscape areas in the hospital campus. The area of the patient room is about 30m2, airy and clean.
Mr. Ly Bich, the project manager, said that the hospital will be officially put into operation in September, 10 months earlier than expected. Currently, more than 500 workers are working hard to speed up the progress, some areas even working night shifts.
Workers are working hard to put the hospital into official operation in September this year.
Previously, in September 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council approved the proposal on the investment policy for the project to purchase equipment for 3 gateway hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City, with a total capital of more than 4,000 billion VND.
Accordingly, Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital 1,491 billion VND, Thu Duc Regional General Hospital 1,450 billion VND, Cu Chi Regional General Hospital 1,450 billion VND.
