Despite many difficulties and challenges, 20 athletes of Thanh Hoa sports competed with the highest effort and determination, excellently winning 7 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 5 bronze medals at SEA Games 32. This is considered a successful Southeast Asian Games for Thanh Hoa sports.

Thanh Hoa diving team with athlete Cao Thi Duyen and coach Pham Tuan Anh made the most contributions to Thanh Hoa sports at SEA Games 32 with 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and broke 2 SEA Games records.

The most prominent is athlete Cao Thi Duyen in diving. This talented swimmer from Thanh Hoa has affirmed her class and experience, achieving outstanding results in Cambodia this year.

Cao Thi Duyen won a hat-trick of gold medals in the women's 4x200m air hose relay, women's 4x100m air hose relay and 4x50m mixed relay, and also won 2 silver medals in the 100m double air hose and 50m air hose events. All three athletes won gold medals in two consecutive SEA Games in their respective sports. In particular, Hoang Thi Tinh won a gold medal in her third consecutive SEA Games. Another golden face of Thanh Hoa sports at the 32nd SEA Games this year is athlete Truong Thi Thuong - karate. The female martial artist from Ba Thuoc has excellently won a precious gold medal in the women's team kumite event. This is also the first gold medal of Thanh Hoa karate at the SEA Games arena so far.

Meanwhile, the 3 silver medals of athletes Nguyen Thi Huong (taekwondo), Truong Van Tuan (vovinam) and Nguyen Hong Quan (kun khmer) were somewhat regrettable. However, the athletes competed with all their might and lacked a bit of luck to achieve higher results.

The Pencak Silat team also made great efforts to win 3 bronze medals with athletes Pham Tuan Anh, Nguyen The Vu, Vu Van Kien. Previously, at the 31st SEA Games, Pencak Silat Thanh Hoa did not win any medals.

In men's football, player Nguyen Thai Son and the U22 Vietnam team won the bronze medal after a 3-1 victory over U22 Myanmar. This young midfielder was a regular in the official lineup of the U22 Vietnam team at the 32nd SEA Games, was assessed to have continuously improved and scored 1 goal.

On the final day of competition (May 16), athlete Luong Thi Dung won a bronze medal in the women's 55 kg category, Arnis. This female martial artist from the Thanh Hoa Pencak Silat team was "deputized" to compete in Arnis. The achievement is remarkable for Luong Thi Dung.

Despite their efforts, athletes such as Quach Cong Lich, Le Van Thao (athletics), Pham Thi Van (swimming), Nguyen Van Lam, Pham Minh Dat (mountain biking), Ha Van Nhat (triathlon)… have not won any medals. The lessons learned from this SEA Games will help athletes compete better in the following tournaments.

The 4 coaches of Thanh Hoa sports including: Tran Van Sy (athletics), Pham Tuan Anh (diving), Nguyen Van Hung (Pencak Silat), Pham Huu Chau (kun botakor) also made significant contributions to the overall achievement of the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 32nd SEA Games.

Thus, with 20 athletes and 4 coaches, Thanh Hoa sports won 7 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 5 bronze medals, successfully concluding the 32nd Southeast Asian Games - SEA Games in Cambodia.
