Games with a strong “sea spirit” in Dinh Thay Thim festival

Known as a beautiful beach with many delicious seafood specialties, now, during the Dinh festival season, visitors also have the opportunity to experience and understand more thoroughly the lives of the people in the Tam Tan coastal area - the place where Thay and Thim once lived and helped the people.

First is the net weaving competition, as usual, organized by Tan Tien commune for women in the area. This year, the competition was organized by the town People's Committee on a larger scale and expanded to include women from 8 communes and wards.

In the traditional Vietnamese traditional dress, conical hat, and with the proficiency from a very familiar daily job. More than 20 women had 10 minutes to compete. With their nimble hands, they quickly created beautiful nets. On the faces of both the contestants and the audience, everyone had bright smiles.

Besides weaving nets, carrying fish is also a livelihood for women in coastal areas. In this game, the women showed their flexibility and resourcefulness. With a pair of shoulder poles weighing 20 kg and a round trip of 80 m of quicksand . The sun and heat of the weather are almost no longer an obstacle, because the job is so familiar.

Simple and plain, but that is a very beautiful image of those who are known as the "weaker sex". However, they have shown their strength in every action. From there, it shows the role of women in family life, they still work hard every day, side by side with their husbands to take care of their children and build happiness.

Another competition that received enthusiastic cheers from the audience was the competition of carrying baskets out to sea. There were 6 teams, each team consisted of 4 athletes (2 rowers and 2 assistants). After hearing the referee 's starting whistle , the boys with strong bodies quickly brought their team's baskets into the sea, overcoming the undulating waves with a marked length of 50m , the athletes of each team tried their best in their competition, competing to reach the finish line first.

The cheers and encouragement of the audience seemed to add to the bustling atmosphere of the festival season. With games that are typical of the coastal region, held on this occasion, it is like an introduction to visitors from near and far about a part of the life and activities of the people of the homeland.

Along with the ceremony program with many traditional spiritual meanings, the festival took place with rich and diverse activities imbued with folk culture, thereby contributing to creating more good impressions and joyful spirit for local people and tourists during each Dinh Thay Thim festival season.
