The miners of Mining Workshop 14, Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin are in the final days of the coal production plan for the first quarter of 2025. With the advantage of a unit with a technical infrastructure for mining mainly by mechanization, the Mining Workshop 14 team strives to mine 45,000 tons of coal, an increase of 3,000 tons compared to the assigned plan.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Kien, Manager of Mining Workshop 14, Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin, to complete the goal, the unit launched a production competition among miners. Responding to the competition, workers in the unit went to work quite fully with a bustling working atmosphere right from the first days and months of the year. On peak days, the unit exploited over 1,000 tons of coal, an increase of 60% compared to the daily plan.
In 2025, Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin was assigned by TKV to exploit 3.7 million tons of coal - the largest coal output among underground units. However, this task is considered not too difficult for Vang Danh Coal, when the basic conditions for production area have been carefully prepared by the unit since the end of last year. In the immediate future, in the first quarter, Vang Danh Coal will produce over 900,000 tons of coal, digging more than 10,000m of tunnel.
Along with implementing mining and tunneling activities according to the meticulously developed technological diagram, Vang Danh Coal also tightens labor safety, speeds up the construction progress of storm prevention works and proactively reserves electrical equipment and water pumps in the first months of the year.
To increase productivity and output, Vang Danh Coal has launched a competition in all departments and workshops; focusing on caring for and improving working conditions, accommodation, and travel for workers. Mechanization of mining, tunneling, and transportation continues to be promoted by the unit with the policy of maximum implementation in qualified stages.
Also assigned by TKV to produce high output this year, Nam Mau Coal Company is striving to exceed the target of exploiting 600,000 tons of coal in the first quarter, contributing to completing the task of producing 2.4 million tons of coal and digging over 30,000m of new tunnels in 2025.
Taking advantage of favorable conditions in the first months of the year, Nam Mau Coal has accelerated the progress of tunnel excavation and opening seams, releasing coal according to plan. The guaranteed human resources and the increased production pace right from the first month of the year have helped the unit successfully complete the output assigned by TKV. During the production process, the unit reviewed and promptly resolved the locations with geological and technical difficulties, ensuring that all mining and tunneling areas were smooth.
"Thanks to these solutions, in the first 3 months of 2025, Nam Mau's average daily coal output will reach 6,000 to 7,000 tons of coal; expected to exceed the first quarter plan" - Mr. Le Van Loi, Deputy Director of Nam Mau Coal Company - TKV said.
At the downstream stage, Cua Ong Coal Selection Company - TKV is also on track to successfully complete the first quarter target with 2.7 million tons of coal produced and consumed, reaching 28% of the 2025 plan.
Cua Ong Coal Selection is the main coal screening and processing hub of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group. In 2025, this unit is responsible for producing and consuming over 12.8 million tons of coal, contributing to the Group's target of consuming 50 million tons of coal this year. Thanks to proactive cooperation with coal mining units in the region, Cua Ong Coal Selection always ensures the output of coal from the mine. In addition, plans for repair, maintenance, and overhaul of equipment are periodically implemented, helping the production lines run smoothly.
"Ensured screening and processing systems are an important factor helping the unit to successfully implement signed coal delivery contracts. At the same time, well-prepared technical infrastructure and warehouses are also the top conditions for coal import and blending at the unit. This March, the Company will invest in phase 2 with many automated items at Coal Selection Workshop 2 - the unit responsible for 43% of the company's coal production" - Mr. Ngo Anh Linh, Deputy Director of Cua Ong Coal Selection Company - TKV added.
By the end of the first quarter, TKV will produce over 10 million tons of clean coal, of which 9.6 million tons will be in Quang Ninh, reaching 28% of the annual plan. Based on the assessment of the intertwined difficulties and advantages in implementing the production and business tasks in 2025, TKV is promoting the implementation of coal consumption from the beginning of the year. In particular, TKV directs downstream units to effectively implement the contents of Directive No. 110/CT-TKV dated March 14, 2025 of the Board of Directors of the Group on proactive solutions to ensure adequate coal supply for electricity production.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Diep, Deputy Director of the Production Management Center in Quang Ninh, said: With favorable momentum, TKV launched a production competition in the second quarter of 2025 with the target of 10.5 million tons of clean coal, of which 10.2 million tons were produced in Quang Ninh, contributing over 5,200 billion VND to the budget in Quang Ninh; at the end of the first 6 months of the year, production and business targets were over 50% of the yearly plan.
