Implementing the program "Vietnam Navy as a support for fishermen to go offshore", on the morning of January 11, the Naval Region 3 Command organized a program to visit and give gifts to fishermen in Ly Son island district (Quang Ngai province).
At the program, the Naval Region 3 Command visited and presented 15 gifts including lifebuoys, life jackets, national flags and 1,000m of mooring ropes to fishermen at Ly Son Fishing Port, Quang Ngai Province. The total value of the gifts was over 150 million VND. This is a meaningful and practical activity to improve the effectiveness of the program "Vietnam Navy as a support for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea", contributing to helping fishermen feel secure in going offshore and sticking to the sea to exploit seafood associated with the task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
It is known that in recent years, along with maintaining the task of protecting assigned sea and island areas, Naval Region 3 has also organized many practical activities such as: Performing search, rescue, and first aid missions for fishermen, supporting troubleshooting, repairing machinery and equipment; supporting food, fuel, and fresh water for fishermen at sea in difficult situations. At the same time, coordinating with other forces to propagate Vietnam's legal documents on the sea and safe, sustainable, and legal exploitation and fishing of aquatic products associated with environmental protection for fishermen.
