On November 24, in Quang Ninh, the Ministry of Information and Communications held a training conference on information and propaganda work in 2023.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Do Cong Anh, Director of the Information Center (Ministry of Information and Communications), said that in recent years, the information and communications industry has made a breakthrough development, contributing significantly to the completion of socio-economic development targets assigned by the Party and the State, with important achievements. Most of the industry's development targets have been achieved or exceeded.
Mr. Cong Anh informed that as of October, the cumulative revenue of the information and communication industry is estimated at 3,016,617 billion VND. The cumulative budget contribution of the whole industry as of the end of October is estimated at 79,014 billion VND.
At the conference, the Ministry of Information and Communications officially announced the formation of the information and communications industry media network. This is a unified media network, connecting the agencies and units of the ministry and the industry with press agencies.
The communication network includes: 32 agencies and units under the ministry all have leaders and specialists in charge of communication and coordinate regularly with the Ministry of Information and Communications to ensure timely exchange and provision of official information serving communication work; 63/63 Departments of Information and Communications all have leaders and officers in charge of communication who coordinate closely with the Information Center to implement unified communication content about the activities of ministries, branches and localities nationwide.
In particular, the network has the participation of nearly 80 journalists and full-time reporters from over 50 press agencies, making an important contribution to serving the communication work well, creating unity in perception and consensus in action to achieve initial successes in implementing the tasks and responsibilities of the ministry and the information and communication sector assigned by the Party and State.
Ms. Dang Thi Phuong Thao, Deputy Director of the Press Department (Ministry of Information and Communications), shared some new perceptions about policy communication, new ways of thinking, new ways of doing, and what policy communication for State agencies needs to do. The necessary knowledge and skills help agencies, units, and localities understand the importance of speaking and providing information to the press; and handling media crises.
In addition, at the conference, specialized units of the Ministry of Information and Communications presented topics on speaking skills and providing information to the press; requirements and tasks of policy propaganda and communication; identification, prevention and combat against fake news and false information in cyberspace; development of digital economy - digital society in the new period and contents of interest to society and public opinion; information security in the new situation; some major orientations in the telecommunications sector and the process of developing and standardizing information on mobile subscribers using video calls.
