On the morning of April 1, a delegation of Da Nang city leaders visited the Vietnamese Association in Savannakhet province.

The Association of Vietnamese in Savannakhet Province has so far gone through 9 terms of operation. The Vietnamese community in Savannakhet Province currently has more than 4,000 people, mainly small traders and some other economic activities. The people have promoted the spirit of solidarity, complying with local policies, laws and regulations.

On behalf of the delegation, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh expressed his joy when visiting the Association of Vietnamese People in Savannakhet Province, highly appreciating the role of the association as a connecting thread, contributing to fostering the special friendship and cooperation between the two countries as well as between Da Nang and Savannakhet. The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee also informed about some socio-economic development situations of Da Nang and hoped that the Vietnamese community in Savannakhet would continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, help each other in life, develop the economy together and always be a solid bridge in the relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

Here, the leaders of Da Nang city provided financial support of 240 million VND to pay salaries for Vietnamese language teachers at the Laos-Vietnam Friendship School and 50 million VND to help people celebrate the Bunpimay festival happily./.
