Late on the evening of January 24 (December 25), Mr. Le Quoc Phong - Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee - and his delegation visited and encouraged traders selling at Cao Lanh Tet flower market.
According to traders, purchasing power at the Tet flower market this year is slow, the amount of ornamental flowers consumed by the 25th of December is less than the same period last year.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Duong (living in Hoa An ward, Cao Lanh city) said that this year Tet flowers are selling slowly, importing goods from Ben Tre to Cao Lanh costs a lot but purchasing power is very weak.
"I imported 500 large pots of raspberry chrysanthemums and crystal chrysanthemums, but have only sold more than 150 pots so far. The amount of flowers imported is 50% less than last year, but I'm worried because there are only 3 days left until Tet," said Ms. Duong.
Meanwhile, Tet apricot growers are less worried because if they don't sell all their bonsai this year, they can take them home to take care of and continue selling them next year.
At each stop, the Secretary of Dong Thap province inquired about the consumption of Tet ornamental flowers at the flower market and encouraged the spirit of the traders.
"The market is different every year, but when I visited, I saw how creative the vendors were in their sales, display, and sales. I wish you all good sales and a happy Tet," said Mr. Phong.
Also in the evening of the same day, Mr. Le Quoc Phong surveyed the progress of the Cao Lanh Spring Flower Street in 2025. Workers are actively working at night to meet the opening schedule.
