(NADS) - Recently, a working delegation from the Ministry of Health and Bach Mai Hospital led by Mr. Le Duc Luan - Deputy Minister of Health visited and worked at Nghe An General Hospital (GHH), aiming to support the hospital to develop into a special-class hospital by 2025.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Health Le Duc Luan highly appreciated the results that Nghe An General Hospital has achieved in recent years, and emphasized the policy of the Ministry of Health in the coming time to continue to promote comprehensive cooperation between central hospitals and local health facilities more deeply and widely.
In addition, the Deputy Minister of Health also shared the issues of the health sector in recent times regarding bidding, procurement of drugs, supplies, medical equipment, etc.
On behalf of Bach Mai Hospital, Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Xuan Co - Director of the Hospital highly appreciated the quality of medical examination and treatment, human resources, facilities and equipment of Nghe An General Hospital. In the coming time, Bach Mai Hospital is ready to actively transfer all remaining advanced and specialized techniques to help Nghe An General Hospital meet the criteria of a special-class hospital according to Circular 06/2024/TT-BYT, making the hospital soon become a special-class hospital by 2025.
Over the years, Nghe An General Hospital has received assistance and support in developing technical expertise from Bach Mai Hospital. The two hospitals have signed an agreement on cooperation, technical expertise support and signed a cooperation project to support technical expertise for Nghe An General Hospital in the period of 2024 - 2030, aiming to turn Nghe An General Hospital into a special-class hospital by 2025.
This will help reduce the burden on central hospitals, and at the same time, people in the North Central region and people in Laos can enjoy advanced, specialized techniques right at Nghe An General Hospital, helping to reduce living and treatment costs, thereby improving the quality of life.
“With the current high-quality human resources of Nghe An General Hospital (including 1 Associate Professor - Doctor, 15 Doctors, more than 100 level II specialists and those in training, nearly 300 postgraduate doctors and those in postgraduate training), along with the support from Bach Mai Hospital, achieving the goal of becoming a special-class hospital by 2025 of Nghe An General Hospital is completely feasible”, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Xuan Co emphasized.
The working group also reviewed the conditions of facilities, equipment, etc. to implement the remaining special criteria to support Nghe An General Hospital.
On behalf of the leadership of Nghe An General Hospital, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Huong - Party Committee Secretary, Director of the Hospital expressed his deep gratitude to Mr. Le Duc Luan - Deputy Minister of Health and Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Xuan Co and the teachers, officers and staff of Bach Mai Hospital, who have always cared for and supported Nghe An General Hospital to achieve outstanding achievements in developing high-tech and specialized expertise in recent years. This has helped the hospital meet the health care needs of the people, creating a solid foundation to strive for special status.
It is known that currently, in Vietnam there are 6 special-class hospitals: 108 Military Central Hospital, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Bach Mai Hospital, Thai Nguyen Central Hospital, Hue Central Hospital, and Cho Ray Hospital.
In the National Health Facility Network Planning for the 2021-2023 period, with a vision to 2050, the Ministry of Health has proposed upgrading special-class hospitals into modern hospitals on par with some countries in the region and internationally to reduce the number of people having to go abroad and attract foreigners to come to Vietnam for medical examination and treatment.
