Measles in Hue is complicated, the health sector recommends that people not be subjective.

On April 1, the leader of the Hue City Department of Health said that to prevent the spread of measles, from March 25 to March 31, the city's health sector has launched a measles vaccination campaign in the area.

After 7 days of implementation, the measles vaccination rate in Hue City reached over 85%. Of which, the group of children aged 1 to 5 years old reached 94.2%, the group of children aged 6 to 10 years old reached 87%, and the group of children aged 6 to 9 months old reached 57.6%.

According to the Hue City Department of Health, the measles epidemic in the area is complicated. Since the beginning of the year, Hue City has recorded 810 cases of rash fever suspected of measles, of which 57 cases were confirmed to have measles, a sharp increase compared to the same period last year. Notably, most of the cases are children who are not old enough to be vaccinated or have not received enough doses of vaccine.

The Hue City Health Department has implemented measures to monitor, detect, investigate and handle cases, strengthen communication on disease prevention and control, and promote additional vaccination campaigns.

Hue City was allocated 5,400 doses of measles vaccine by the Ministry of Health for children aged 6 months to under 9 months and 23,830 doses of measles-rubella vaccine for children aged 1 to 10 years. Vaccination points were organized at 132 health stations and 27 primary schools.

With a vaccination rate of over 85%, Hue City ranked 3rd out of 8 localities in the Central Coast region implementing this measles vaccination campaign, helping to improve community immunity against measles, contributing to effectively controlling the measles epidemic in the area.

To prevent measles, the Hue City Department of Health recommends that people follow the measles vaccination schedule and other vaccines in the expanded immunization program to protect their own health and the community's. Parents need to proactively take their children to get vaccinated on schedule and with all doses, while raising awareness of health protection in the community to join hands in repelling the measles epidemic.
