On October 1, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Tran Van Quang - Chairman of Dien Thang Bac Ward People's Committee (Dien Ban town, Quang Nam province) - said that after 3 days of being abandoned, the newborn baby boy still had no relatives coming to claim him.
Previously, at 4:30 a.m. on September 28, Dien Thang Bac Ward People's Committee received a report from residents about the discovery of an abandoned baby at the small park of Bo Mung 2 block.

The baby boy was abandoned in a styrofoam box, wrapped in a towel. After a preliminary examination, the baby's health condition was normal, weighing 4.5 kg.
According to the Chairman of Dien Thang Bac Ward People's Committee, after discovering the child, the ward issued a notice asking the child's biological father, mother, and relatives to come to Dien Thang Bac Ward People's Committee to complete the procedures to receive the child.
Within 7 days from the date of notification, if there is no information about the child's father or mother, Dien Thang Bac Ward People's Committee will carry out birth registration and related procedures for the child according to the provisions of law.
"The child is being cared for by a local family. The ward has notified the biological parents to come and claim the child. After 7 days of notification, if the biological parents do not come and claim the child, the ward People's Committee will handle the matter according to the law," informed the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Thang Bac ward.
