A 1-month-old baby boy was abandoned by his mother in front of a temple gate with a note saying "a third-year student due to difficulties, asked the temple for help and care for his child".
On December 23, a representative of the People's Committee of My Thanh Commune, Thu Thua District, Long An Province said that the government had agreed to let the nuns at Long Hoa Pagoda temporarily care for and raise the abandoned baby.
At the same time, the commune government also widely announced so that the children's relatives could come and take care of them.
Specifically, two nights ago (December 21), a resident discovered right at the gate of Long Hoa pagoda (Hamlet 5, My Thanh commune) a baby boy weighing 2.5 kg, about 1 month old, abandoned by his mother.
Next to the newborn baby was a piece of paper with the mother's name, address and that she is currently a third-year university student.
In the letter, the mother said that due to difficult circumstances she could not raise the child and that she had to continue studying, so she sent the child to the nuns at the temple to raise and help the child grow up.
After being informed by the people, the nuns in the temple came out to witness and agreed to bring the child to the temple. At the same time, the temple informed the People's Committee of the commune with the wish to care for and raise the abandoned child if no relatives came to claim it.
