After 3.5 days of serious work and high responsibility, on the evening of February 10, the National Assembly Standing Committee closed the 42nd Session, completing the proposed program content.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the National Assembly Standing Committee has reviewed 27 contents, including: 16 contents to be submitted to the National Assembly at the 9th Extraordinary Session; 2 contents to be submitted to the National Assembly at the 9th Session; 9 contents under the authority of the National Assembly Standing Committee, focusing on serving the streamlining of the organizational apparatus.
In addition, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on key and urgent issues submitted by the Government to remove bottlenecks, promote socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security, and specific mechanisms and policies for a number of projects and works.
During the session, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee held a conference to thoroughly discuss the contents to be presented to the National Assembly at the Extraordinary Session, and agreed on issues to seek opinions from competent authorities.
The National Assembly Chairman said that despite the urgent requirements on progress, time pressure, and many difficult and complicated contents, the quality of the contents presented at the meeting basically met the requirements and were qualified to be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration. Major issues were basically agreed upon between the presenting agency and the reviewing agency.
Immediately after this session, the National Assembly Chairman requested that the Government and National Assembly agencies focus on and promptly complete draft laws, resolutions, review reports and documents attached to the conclusions of the National Assembly Standing Committee; continue to review and compare to ensure constitutionality, consistency and unity between draft laws; promptly send documents of the session to National Assembly deputies for careful study before discussion and voting to ensure quality and achieve high consensus.
The National Assembly Chairman requested the National Assembly Office to carefully review and prepare facilities, technology, information, security, safety, reception, and logistics so that the 9th Extraordinary Session can take place thoughtfully, safely, and successfully.
Due to the importance of the session, the National Assembly Chairman requested that the information and propaganda work during, before and after the session must be comprehensive and in-depth, creating a wide and positive spread, creating a new spirit and new determination of the entire Party, people and army, all for the rapid and sustainable development of the country. The Secretary General of the National Assembly proactively coordinates with agencies, especially the Central Propaganda and Education Commission and the Ministry of Information and Communications to provide full information to the press.
In addition to the preparations for the 9th Extraordinary Session, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized that the 9th Regular Session is expected to have a large volume of legislative, supervisory, and decision-making tasks on important issues of the session. Therefore, the National Assembly Chairman requested that agencies actively prepare, and in the immediate future, report to ensure the progress of the National Assembly Standing Committee at the regular session in March 2025.
Along with stabilizing the organizational apparatus after the extraordinary session, the National Assembly Chairman requested that agencies focus highly, closely follow the programs, plans, and conclusions of the National Assembly Chairman and Vice Chairmen at the meetings to proactively organize and implement work, ensuring that the activities of agencies and organizations take place continuously and without interruption.
At the same time, well implement the regime and policies for cadres, civil servants and public employees affected by organizational reorganization; promote the pioneering and exemplary spirit of party members and cadres, ready to sacrifice for personal interests and for the common development of the country as General Secretary To Lam has stated many times; continue to improve the quality of coordination, sense of responsibility, proactiveness, creativity, openness, listening, readiness, initiative, timely and effective handling of new issues.
