On January 28, according to news from Ho Chi Minh City Police, the Investigation Police Agency of Binh Tan District Police prosecuted Tran Anh Tuan (born in 1996), Cao Van Thong (born in 1993), Huynh Ngoc Ai (born in 2000) and Nguyen Thi Thanh Vy (born in 1997), all residing in Ho Chi Minh City, to investigate the crime of Theft of property.
The police also prosecuted Trang Sy Uyen (born 1976, residing in Long An), Vo Van Viet (born 1976, residing in Ho Chi Minh City) for the act of receiving property obtained by others through crime.
Among them, Tran Anh Tuan, Cao Van Thong, Trang Si Uyen, and Vo Van Viet were temporarily detained by the investigation agency. Huynh Ngoc Ai and Nguyen Thi Thanh Vy were banned from leaving their place of residence.
The above decisions and orders have been approved by Binh Tan District People's Procuracy.

Previously, through the work of grasping the situation, managing the area and reporting from the people, Binh Tan District Police discovered a group of people stealing car mirrors in the area.
Through screening, on January 17, Binh Tan District Police discovered and brought to the headquarters 4 people including: Tran Anh Tuan, Huynh Ngoc Ai, Cao Van Thong, Nguyen Thi Thanh Vy.
At the police station, this group confessed that because they needed to spend money, they discussed and together stole the rearview mirror of a car parked on the street at night, without anyone watching.
These 4 people rode 2 motorbikes, passing through many routes. When they discovered a car parked on the street with no one watching, Tran Anh Tuan and Cao Van Thong stole the rearview mirror, Nguyen Thi Thanh Vy and Huynh Ngoc Ai kept watch, started the car engine and waited, then left the scene.
The stolen property will be given to Cao Van Thong to sell and get money to divide among the group. The four members of this group all illegally use synthetic drugs. Tuan and Thong both have criminal records, Vy has a previous conviction for illegal drug use.

Expanding the investigation at the points where stolen car mirrors were purchased, the police determined that Trang Sy Uyen, although knowing that the rearview mirrors Cao Van Thong sold were stolen, still bought them to resell for the difference in price. Trang Sy Uyen has two previous convictions for receiving property obtained through criminal activity.
After buying, Uyen sold it to Vo Van Viet - owner of Tan Viet auto repair shop (address 369 Dinh Bo Linh, Ward 26, Binh Thanh District).
During an emergency search of Tran Anh Tuan's residence (Vinh Loc B commune, Binh Chanh district), the police seized a pair of rearview mirrors from a Toyota Veloz car and a pair of rearview mirrors from a Huydai Accent car.
During an emergency search of Trang Sy Uyen's workplace (1803 National Highway 1, Hamlet 1, An Phu Tay Commune, Binh Chanh District), the police seized a pair of rearview mirrors from a gray Toyota Inova car and 5 other pairs of rearview mirrors of unknown brands.

During an emergency search of Vo Van Viet's workplace (Tan Viet auto repair shop), police seized 2 Hyundai Santafe rearview mirrors and 260 rearview mirrors of various types of cars.
Ho Chi Minh City police call on anyone who is a victim of the above group to contact the police agency where the property loss occurred to report and assist in the investigation.
