Today, the central exchange rate announced by the State Bank is 24,886 VND/USD. The reference buying and selling rates are 23,692 - 26,080 VND/USD.
Applying a 5% band, the USD exchange rate that commercial banks are allowed to trade is from 23,642 - 26,130 VND/USD (buy - sell). Currently, many banks have applied an exchange rate exceeding 26,000 VND/USD.
Specifically, Vietcombank listed the USD exchange rate at 25,610 - 26,000 VND/USD, up 80 VND compared to the end of last week. However, the USD price at Vietcombank is still 180 VND lower than the peak set on April 9.

VietinBank and BIDV also raised the trading price of this foreign currency by nearly 100 VND. After adjustment, VietinBank buys and sells USD at 25,650 - 26,010 VND, while BIDV listed it at 25,630 - 25,990 VND/USD.
At the private commercial banking group, HDBank currently lists the greenback trading price at 25,530 - 25,980 VND/USD, an increase of 70 VND compared to the end of last week.
Some other banks such as ACB, Techcombank, Eximbank also increased the USD selling price to over 26,000 VND.
On the "black market", the USD is currently traded at 26,000 - 26,100 VND/USD, the buying and selling prices both decreased sharply by 20 VND compared to the level recorded at the end of last week.
In the international market, the USD Index (DXY), a measure of the greenback's strength against other major currencies, fell to 99.6 points, down another 0.5% from the end of last week. Since the beginning of April, the DXY index has fallen nearly 4.4% and nearly 8.2% since the beginning of 2025.
