The 3-cushion carom billiards tournament, part of the Hue Sports Festival 2024, was born with the desire to contribute to the development of this sport in the Central region. This tournament is considered to create opportunities for athletes to have more playgrounds, to exchange, learn and improve on the occasion of "Sports Festival for Community Health - Hue Festival Sports 2024".
Kien Trung Palace after restoration
This tournament will take place from July 4 to 7, 2024. In the qualifying round, players will compete at Quoc Vinh Billiards Club (Hue City). In particular, the best players who reach the semi-finals and finals will compete at Kien Trung Palace (Hue Imperial City), in the hall where King Bao Dai used to set up a billiards table for entertainment. This is the first time a billiards tournament has been brought to the Hue Imperial City to compete.
The 3-cushion carom billiards tournament, part of the Hue Sports Festival 2024, will apply the Billiards & Snooker Competition Rules issued by the Department of Sports and Physical Training in 2009 and the competition rules of the World Carom Billiards Federation (UMB).
Up to now, nearly 200 players have registered to participate in the tournament.
The competition is very high, as the competition format is a knockout. In the qualifying round, players will hit 30 points (no equal shots) and limited to 40 shots. From round 16 onwards, the player who hits 40 points first (no equal shots, no limit on shots) will win the match. In all matches, each shot is limited to 40 seconds and there are 2 time outs.
The champion will receive a prize of 40 million VND. The second place winner will receive 20 million VND, and the third place winner will receive 10 million VND. As for the secondary prize, the player with the highest score series will receive 5 million VND. Meanwhile, the “best game” prize (the match with the highest average score/turn) will receive 5 million VND.
