Vietnamnet Newspaper received the First Class Labor Medal

On December 19, 1997, the VietNet website appeared, marking the birth of VietNamNet Electronic Newspaper. On June 17, 2008, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 755/QD-TTg transferring VietNamNet Newspaper to the Ministry of Information and Communications. On May 30, 2018, the Minister of Information and Communications signed Decision No. 820/QD-TTTT on merging VietNamNet Electronic Newspaper and Vietnam Post Newspaper into VietNamNet Newspaper as it is today. From an online news site, up to now, Vietnamnet Newspaper has continuously developed, becoming a brand with a socio-political position and great influence.

Speaking at the ceremony, Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper Nguyen Van Ba emphasized that throughout its development journey, Vietnamnet Newspaper has consistently pursued the strategy of building a newspaper that is "Trustworthy, Responsible, Sharp and Innovative". The criteria of "Fast, Accurate, Objective and Standard" are the key for Vietnamnet Newspaper to serve the Fatherland and the people; create trust and consensus in society to jointly realize the aspiration for a strong and prosperous Vietnam.

Identifying the mission of being a leading newspaper in digital transformation, from 2022, Vietnamnet Newspaper will invest in research and application of digital technology to operate a modern electronic newspaper publishing platform, meeting the increasingly diverse operational needs of the editorial office. Along with that, the newspaper has transformed its interface to be more friendly and modern, providing many new features to bring optimal experience to readers.

During its 25 years of operation and development, Vietnamnet Newspaper has always strived to become a positive model of journalism; inspiring, arousing aspirations for development, promoting the core values of the country and people, encouraging the spirit of self-reliance, self-improvement, innovation and creativity.

Speaking at the ceremony to receive the First Class Labor Medal and celebrate the 25th anniversary of its establishment, comrade Nguyen Manh Hung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Information and Communications suggested: "Vietnamnet is a newspaper, the mouthpiece of the Ministry of Information and Communications. The field of information technology and communications must be the number one strength of Vietnamnet newspaper, and that is also the newspaper's mission".

Determining that the newspaper must innovate to develop, the Minister of Information and Communications emphasized: "If Vietnamnet wants to innovate, it must return to its original values and mission, which is the mission of serving and promoting the nation. The newspaper must respect differences to nurture creativity, choose more difficult tasks to train and mature; always be present at hot spots and hot issues; aim for solutions rather than criticism."
