Ha Tinh: Two women and a child in Huong Khe district were walking on a flooded road when they slipped into a deep puddle and were swept away by the water.
At 10:00 a.m. on October 30, Ms. Tong Thi Trang, 33 years old, and Nguyen Thi Hoa, 31 years old, residing in Ha Linh commune, Huong Khe district, went to clean a chicken farm more than a kilometer from their home. On their way back near the cultural house of village 12, they were swept away by floodwaters and went missing.

At 3 p.m. the same day, relatives did not see the two sisters return so they reported to the authorities. Due to heavy rain, the road was flooded 0.5-0.7 m, making the search difficult. Late in the afternoon, Trang's body was discovered at the cultural house of village 12.
By evening, dozens of people were still searching for Ms. Hoa. The two victims were sisters-in-law, each with 2-3 small children, and from poor families.
At Huong Thuy commune, at 3:30 p.m. today, Nguyen Van Dung, 13 years old, was walking on a 0.3-0.5 m flooded road in village 6, when he slipped into a deep puddle and was drowned. At 8:30 p.m., the victim's body was found near the accident site.

In Can Loc district, at 3 p.m., authorities received a report from 9 workers constructing a highway that was isolated by floodwaters in their camp near the Gia River, passing through Son Loc commune. Previously, due to light rain, these people were complacent, and after a few hours of heavy rain, the water rose rapidly, and they did not have time to leave.
The government sent officers to drive motorboats to approach the camp, and after two trips, they brought 9 workers to a safe residential area at nearly 5:00 p.m.

Under the influence of cold air and high-altitude easterly winds, the Central region has had heavy rain for the past two days, with the center of the rain being Ha Tinh. The rainfall from 7pm yesterday to 7am this morning in some places was particularly heavy, such as: Huong Trach (Huong Khe) 100mm, Duc Huong 280mm, Vu Quang National Park 230mm, Duc Bong 220mm.
Nearly 500 houses in the area were flooded 0.5-0.7 m, Ho Chi Minh road and National Highway 15 were flooded 0.3-0.7 m, the North-South railway was interrupted due to landslides, more than 4,500 students had to stay home from school... It is forecasted that the rain in Ha Tinh will last until November 2.
