Anh Vien enjoys the challenge of swimming in the Red River

On her personal page, Nguyen Thi Anh Vien posted the status "Swimming the Red River is easy, Vien will show you" with a picture of her standing in the river, near Long Bien bridge.

Anh Vien's post quickly attracted more than 10,000 likes. Everyone enjoyed Anh Vien's wit.

In the post, Anh Vien thanked the well wishes for her. This famous athlete always shows her closeness and cuteness with fans.

Anh Vien recorded the moment of swimming in the Red River.

Anh Vien participated in the swimming challenge in the Red River with the Discovery Swimming Club a few days ago. Through a friend, the club's President - Nguyen Ngoc Khanh contacted Anh Vien to invite her to participate in this activity.

Khanh revealed that Anh Vien was quite curious and thought about it for a day before accepting. On March 11, Vien was in Hanoi to swim around the foot of Long Bien Bridge for about an hour with everyone. Vien was enthusiastically guided by everyone on how to orient herself and feel the flow of the water because she was used to swimming in still water.

"Vien was shivering because it was cold that day. However, she gradually got used to the environment and demonstrated different swimming skills and speed in all four swimming styles: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly," Mr. Khanh recalled.

Currently, Anh Vien is no longer playing for the national team. After many years of dedication, the girl from Can Tho won 25 SEA Games gold medals, 2 ASIAD bronze medals, 1 Youth Olympic gold medal,... She is also the Vietnamese athlete with the biggest investment in history with a budget of about 30 billion VND in the period 2011-2019.

After the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021, Anh Vien withdrew from the team with the desire to focus on her studies and personal life. In 2022, Anh Vien will still participate in the 9th National Sports Festival in Hanoi. Anh Vien's competition management unit is the National Defense Sports Center 4.

Besides competing, Anh Vien opened a swimming center for children in Ho Chi Minh City.

Returning to normal life, Anh Vien is more open on social networks. She regularly posts pictures and clips on Facebook and Tiktok to share about her life as well as her swimming training skills.

Recently, Anh Vien completed her studies at Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports.
