On March 24, a representative of Waterway Police Team No. 1 (Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police) said that the unit had just detained 3 ships carrying nearly 1,000m3 of sand without documents of origin, circulating on the Red River (section through Phuc Tho district).

Specifically, at 1:10 a.m. the same day, the Working Group of Waterway Police Team No. 1 on duty on the Red River (section through Xuan Dinh commune, Phuc Tho district) discovered 3 sand-carrying ships with suspicious signs.

Conducting a physical inspection, an unmarked ship with a registration number, operated by Mr. Nguyen Van D. (born in 1974, residing in Vinh Phuc), was carrying about 280m3 of sand. This person could not present documents related to the driver, vehicle and amount of sand on board.

Ship HN-2355, captained by Mr. Vu Hong M. (born in 1994, residing in Nam Dinh), was carrying 300m3 of sand. Mr. Vu Hong M. could not present documents related to the vehicle and professional certificates, as well as the goods on board.

The vehicle with registration number VP-1326, captained by Nguyen Van LS (born in 1976), was carrying about 350m3 of sand. Mr. S. could not present documents related to the vehicle and the goods being transported on board. Waterway Police Team No. 1 took the three vehicles to a temporary detention facility for further verification and handling.

Previously, on March 21, on the Red River (section through Van Khe, Me Linh, Hanoi), the unit also inspected and handled 2 water vehicles with license plate number VP-2179 and vehicle with control number VR-23069765 carrying goods without invoices with about 400m3 of sand.
