As part of a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France (1973 - 2023) and 10 years of strategic partnership (2013 - 2023), the event "Vietnam Day in France 2023" took place very grandly at the Vietnam Cultural Center in France (Paris, France) on November 8 and 9, 2023 and the French - Vietnamese vovinam martial arts and lion and dragon dance troupe once again made a strong impression at this important event.
Vovinam students perform at the event
Participating in the art performance program, in addition to traditional art programs performed by Vietnamese artists, French Vovinam martial artists and Vietnamese lion and dragon dancers stirred up the hall of the Vietnam Cultural Center in France with their special performances expressing the heroic and martial spirit of the Vietnamese people. The auditorium was packed with people clapping and shouting "Bravo Vietnam" which made more than 300 international guests and overseas Vietnamese attending the performance night really excited.
Vovinam attracts special attention from viewers
Under the command of two French martial artists and three lion and dragon dance coaches from the IVS Lion and Dragon Dance Troupe representing the Vietnam Lion and Dragon Dance Federation, namely Xuan Tai, Hieu Hien, and Hoan Phi, the vovinam martial artists of many skin colors performed unique techniques of Vietnamese martial arts in harmony with the heroic sound of war drums and the colorful performance of the Vietnamese lion and dragon dance troupe, leaving many good impressions on the guests attending the ceremony.
Lion dance group participates in the performance
Dr. Vo Danh Hai, Vice President of the World Martial Arts Association (WoMAU), former Secretary General of the World Vovinam Federation (WVVF), present at the event said: "Exactly 10 years ago, in 2013, as part of the series of activities celebrating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France, WVVF also organized the 2nd World Championship in Paris and the event "Vovinam Day in France" right at the Vietnam Cultural Center in France. Today, being back in Paris for this important event, witnessing Vovinam students of all skin colors performing the beauty of traditional Vietnamese martial arts, I am truly moved and proud.

In particular, Vovinam and lion and dragon dances have contributed to the Vietnamese color performance at UNESCO headquarters, where Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Ha Kim Ngoc was elected to the position of Vice President of the UNESCO Council. This is also a great opportunity for Vietnam's cultural heritages, including Vovinam, to have more opportunities to build a roadmap for UNESCO to recognize them as cultural heritages of humanity."
Vovinam combined with lion and dragon dance
Previously, Vovinam and lion and dragon dance also contributed to the event "Vietnamese Cultural Night - Vietnamese Colors, Cultural Heritage as a driving force for peace, self-reliance and sustainable development" organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam - Vietnam Delegation and UNESCO in Paris, France.
The Vietnamese Vovinam and Lion Dance Troupe participated in teaching international training courses for students in Moissy-Cramayel City (Paris suburbs) from November 3-5 and had a very successful international martial arts and lion dance performance at the city's sports stadium.
