The 48th IVU World Vegan Festival was held in 3 major cities of India: Mumbai, Chennai and Ahmedabad. The festival attracted more than 125 booths, more than 50 famous artists and speakers, 5,000 people registered to participate in Earth Run and Earth March; especially more than 15,000 people attended in Mumbai, 3,000 people attended in Chennai, 2,000 people attended in Ahmedabad.
The event focuses on many different aspects such as: cuisine, fashion, cosmetics, music, sports, exchange activities, knowledge sharing of experts in many fields: health, nutrition, environment...
The IVU World Vegan Festival is organized by the International Vegetarian Union (IVU), every 2 or 3 years in many places around the world since 1908. With the aim of connecting, inspiring and transmitting comprehensive knowledge about vegetarianism, the festival has brought memorable experiences and contributed to creating awareness about sustainability, environment, health and vegan lifestyle.
As one of the largest and oldest vegetarian organizations in the world (officially established in 1908), the advisory board of the International Vegetarian Union (IVU) brings together professors, doctors, and experts in many fields such as medicine, nutrition, culture, environment, economics...
As the representative unit of IVU in Vietnam, anchay.vn and An Chay TV continue the mission of spreading the good values of vegetarianism to the public through media channels such as: website, social networks, organizing talk shows, interview podcasts, cooking-shows; regularly updating news and events of vegetarian activities at home and abroad.
Attending the 48th IVU World Vegan Festival in Mumbai as a media sponsor in Vietnam, An Chay TV recorded and interviewed experts, guests, celebrities... to bring many perspectives on veganism.
Besides, Mr. Le Vinh Thao - founder of An Chay TV and anchay.vn, Advisor to the International Vegetarian Alliance Council, representative of the International Vegetarian Alliance in Vietnam gave a speech at the festival.
Here, Mr. Thao reported on the progress of activities related to the issuance of IVU Vegan Certificate globally and especially in Vietnam; introduced the values of vegetarianism and the situation of vegetarian activities in Vietnam. The speech clearly stated the meaning, purpose, criteria and review process for the issuance of IVU Vegan Certificate, this certificate will be valid worldwide.
It is expected that the IVU Vegan Certificate will be implemented in 2024 and Mr. Le Vinh Thao will be the representative of the International Vegetarian Alliance to receive, review and issue certificates in Vietnam.
Ms. Marly Winckler - President of the International Vegetarian Union (IVU) announced that anchay.vn will be the host of the 49th IVU World Vegan Festival in Vietnam.
Ms. Marly Winckler shared: “I am really looking forward to the 49th IVU World Vegan Festival in Vietnam. I know that there are many vegetarians in Vietnam. But through Thao Le's speech, I was really surprised by the number of vegetarians as well as the diversity and richness of vegetarian dishes. I and the advisory board of the International Vegetarian Union (IVU) are always ready to accompany anchay.vn and An Chay TV in upcoming activities”.
