Van Son Commune Police (Lac Son) connected with philanthropists to give gifts to poor students in the area.
Lieutenant Colonel Bui Thanh Nghi, Head of Van Son Commune Police, said: Children in difficult circumstances, orphans, and those who do not have adequate education are often easily lured into crime by bad guys. The construction of the "Shelter of Love" model aims to help children live in an environment of love, responsibility, and proper orientation and standards of personality, and to motivate them to nurture their dreams of continuing to study and strive for a bright future. At the same time, it contributes to strengthening the great national unity bloc, firmly consolidating the people's hearts and security in the locality.
Recently, Van Son Commune Police have screened and selected 2 children with especially difficult circumstances, who are trying to improve their lives in Ray Hamlet and Rang Thien Hamlet, who are studying at Van Son Primary and Secondary School to support with the action slogan "Helping children go to school". Specifically, every month, each officer and soldier of the Commune Police donates 100,000 VND, each part-time police officer donates 10,000 VND, the total amount of money raised is 570,000 VND/month. The entire amount is given to the 2 children. In addition, on holidays and Tet, the Commune Police pay attention to giving gifts, supporting necessities; coordinating with organizations and individuals with good hearts to donate books, clothes... to encourage poor children to have more confidence and motivation to study and improve their lives.
In January 2024, through the work of grasping the situation, Van Son Commune Police found that in Khu hamlet, there were 5 children born in a family with special circumstances. Due to lack of money to go to school, the children dropped out of school, had to wander around to make a living, and had no place to eat or stay. With the consent of the Party Committee and the district and commune authorities, the unit brought the 5 children back to temporarily arrange accommodation and activities for a period of time. Officers and soldiers in the unit also guided and taught the children how to take care of themselves and do housework. From June 2024, after 3 months of being cared for and raised at the Social Work Center and the Provincial Children's Support Fund, the children returned to their residential area. The Commune Police continued to help, mobilize resources to support the children with necessities, regularly monitor them so that they can live in a safe environment; at the same time, they supported the procedures so that the children could continue to go to school.
According to comrade Bui Van Cuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Son commune, the "Shelter of Love" model of the commune police force has sponsored, nurtured, educated, and provided material and spiritual support to children in especially difficult circumstances in the area, so that they can develop comprehensively in a safe and healthy environment, ensuring children's rights according to the provisions of law. Thereby, creating a spreading effect of beautiful and practical actions in studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh associated with the movement "People's Police study and practice the 6 teachings of Uncle Ho" and the campaign "Building the style of People's Police officers who are brave, humane, and serve the people", with the motto "Eating together, living together, working together, speaking the national language" with the people, "When the people need it, when the people are in trouble, there is the Police".
