AirPods will translate conversations live

According to Bloomberg, this feature is expected to be launched later this year with iOS 19 - the latest version of the iPhone operating system.

With this technology, AirPods can support communication between two people speaking different languages. For example, if an English speaker is talking to a Spanish speaker, the iPhone will translate the speech into English and play it to the AirPods. Conversely, the English user's speech will be translated into Spanish and played back through the iPhone.

Apple has released the Translate app on iPhone since 2020, but this is the first time the live translation feature has been integrated into AirPods.

Compared to rivals like Google Pixel Buds, which have supported translation for years, Apple's entry into the mobile translation race promises to enhance the user experience and expand cross-border communication capabilities.

The addition of the translation feature is also part of Apple's major overhaul this year, when the company plans to completely upgrade iOS and macOS, bringing a new interface and a series of improved features to iPhone, iPad and Mac.

In particular, Apple is also enhancing translation technology on iOS 19 to improve the system's accuracy and language processing capabilities.

In addition to software improvements, Apple continues to invest in AirPods hardware. The company is developing a third-generation AirPods Pro and is working on a headphone model with an integrated AI camera to analyze the surrounding environment.

In recent years,Apple has continued to add new features to AirPods through software updates without requiring users to buy new devices.

Earlier in 2024, the company introduced hearing assistance features on AirPods Pro 2, helping the device act as a personalized hearing aid, including hearing aid mode and hearing tests without the need for a doctor.

The ability to translate directly on AirPods not only makes the product more useful, but also opens up a huge step forward in global communication technology. With this innovation, AirPods can become a powerful support tool, helping users connect more easily with people who speak other languages.
