Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City delegation - was moved to quote two verses of poet Tran The Tuyen sent to the navy soldiers on duty on Phu Quoc Island:
"The body fell to the land of the Fatherland
The soul flies up to become the national spirit.

Emotions about the soldiers on the front lines of the Fatherland came flooding back after the incense offering ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City delegation at the Fist Monument (Phu Quoc) on the afternoon of November 13.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc and Rear Admiral Pham Nhu Xuan, Deputy Commander of the Navy, head of the working delegation, along with more than 160 delegates from the city named after Uncle Ho.

Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc shared that the Fist Monument as well as many martyrs' cemeteries across the country have demonstrated the heroic cause of protecting the Fatherland of the nation.
"Grass can grow freely on the cemetery land, but we are not allowed to be carefree about that," said Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc.
After the incense offering ceremony, the delegation of Ho Chi Minh City sent to the officers, navy soldiers and people of Phu Quoc island the sentiments of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City, through gifts, which were the dedication of many agencies, units, organizations, individuals and delegates participating in the journey.
Previously, at Hon Doc Island, the delegation of Ho Chi Minh City visited and presented meaningful gifts from the city named after Uncle Ho to the officers, soldiers and people on the island.
Among the delegation participating in the voyage to visit and encourage officers, soldiers and people on the southwestern islands and DK1/10 platform, up to 1/3 are Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union members.

As Ms. Tran Thu Ha, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, said, each member of the delegation felt the deep patriotism of each soldier and each citizen here, and appreciated the contributions and silent sacrifices to maintain the sovereignty, the sacred sea and sky of the Fatherland.
“HCMC always has hearts turned towards the homeland's sea and islands, towards the front line of the Fatherland, always has the most sincere feelings for the army and people who are day and night protecting the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland.
Returning to the city after this meaningful journey, each of us delegates must have been filled with many sacred and noble emotions," Ms. Tran Thu Ha shared.

Ms. Nguyen Kim Xuan, Deputy Secretary of Binh Chanh District Youth Union, expressed: "After 5 days of participating in the journey, I feel both proud and sympathetic to the officers and soldiers on the island.
Especially the emotional feeling every time the soldiers said goodbye to the delegation is something I will never forget."
