The Vifotec 2022 Award is given to 43 projects being applied in production, bringing high economic efficiency, helping to replace imports and create a technology market serving life.
The Organizing Committee of the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award (Vifotec) said that out of 128 works participating in Vifotec 2022, the Jury selected 43 excellent products. The closing and award ceremony will be held at the Hanoi Opera House on May 31.
Of the 43 selected projects, there were four first prizes, nine second prizes, 15 third prizes and 15 consolation prizes. The prizes were awarded to six groups of fields: automation mechanics (9), materials (6), information technology - electronics - telecommunications (5), biology (6), climate change response technology (10), energy saving and new energy (7).

Among these, the first prize winning works include:
Research on manufacturing a continuous vacuum frying system, applied in processing fried snack products from Vietnamese agricultural and aquatic products by the group of authors Pham Anh Tuan, Nguyen Tien Khuong, Ta Phuong Thao and colleagues of the Institute of Agricultural Mechanics and Post-Harvest Technology (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) - field of mechanical automation.
Research on predictive maintenance program and application of artificial intelligence to save energy, improve operational efficiency of Hai Thach - Moc Tinh condensate gas field, blocks 05-2 and 05-3 in the East Sea of Vietnam by Ngo Huu Hai, Tran Vu Tung, Tran Ngoc Trung and colleagues of Bien Dong Oil and Gas Operating Company (Vietnam Oil and Gas Group) - renewable energy and new energy sector.
Improving the structure of biological media using PET plastic scrap to enhance the efficiency of wastewater treatment in beverage production by the group of authors Van Tra, Pham Duy Nhat, Ha Van Kien, Huong Sen Group Joint Stock Company (Thai Binh) - field of material technology.
Research on the application of technology to improve oil recovery coefficient for terrigenous sediments of oil fields in Cuu Long Basin, Vietnam's continental shelf by Nguyen Minh Quy, Pham Truong Giang, Hoang Long and colleagues of Vietnam Petroleum Institute (PetroVietnam) - field of climate change response technology.
In addition, two first prize winning projects in the fields of materials technology and automation mechanics were awarded the WIPO prize by the World Intellectual Property Organization.
The Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award is organized annually by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the General Confederation of Labor, and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to honor research that is being applied in practice by scientists nationwide to help improve socio-economic efficiency, contribute to promoting business production, improving productivity, quality, reducing product costs, replacing imports, and creating a technology market serving life, security and national defense. In 28 years, there have been nearly 3,000 projects participating and more than 900 projects winning awards.
