Since arriving in New Zealand (July 5), the Vietnamese women's team has played two friendly matches. Huynh Nhu and her teammates lost 0-2 to host New Zealand (July 10) and 0-9 to Spain (July 14).

In New Zealand, the Vietnamese women's team stayed at the Rydges Hotel, located in the center of Auckland. To create the best conditions for the athletes, the accommodation area, dining room and functional rooms are fully equipped with equipment for treatment and rest after training and competition.

The Vietnamese women's team is trained at Fred Taylor Park, a 20-minute bus ride from the base. Fred Taylor Park also has indoor gyms to ensure the Vietnamese women's team can train in different weather conditions.

PLAY 3 MATCHES ON 3 DIFFERENT STADIUMS

In the 2023 World Cup group stage, the Vietnamese women's team will play 3 matches on 3 fields, in 3 different cities in New Zealand. Coach Mai Duc Chung's team will meet the US (8:00 a.m. on July 22, Eden Park, Auckland), Portugal (2:30 p.m. on July 27, Waikato, Hamilton), and the Netherlands (2:00 p.m. on August 1, Forsyth Barr, Dunedin).

In Group E of the 2023 World Cup, the Vietnamese women's team has the smallest physique, with an average height of 1.61 m. Meanwhile, the US women's team has an average height of 1.7 m, Portugal has an average height of 1.69 m, and the Netherlands has an average height of 1.71 m. In addition to the disadvantages in terms of physique and physical strength, the Vietnamese women's team also faces difficulties in competition conditions when having to play in cold weather and at very strange times.

23 PLAYERS WITH TRANSFERS WON MORE THAN 16 BILLION

According to FIFA's new regulations on remuneration for the 32 teams participating in the 2023 Women's World Cup, each player will receive 30,000 USD (about 700 million VND) just for participating in the group stage. FIFA will transfer the money directly to the players. Thus, 23 players of the Vietnamese women's team will receive 30,000 USD/person, a total of 690,000 USD (about more than 16 billion VND). If they go further, the amount received from FIFA will be higher.
